Samurai Warriors 2 Is Getting An HD Remake Again

samu1 Yeah, we understand HD remasters are an easy way to make money, but seeing Samurai Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends & Empires HD Version is still kind of strange. After all, Tecmo Koei already made a HD version of Samurai Warriors 2 and the two expansions for Xbox 360.

Six years later, Samurai Warriors 2 is coming to PlayStation 3 and Vita. Samurai Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends & Empires HD Version was announced in Famitsu and slated for release on October 24. The game costs 5,040 yen ($51) or 8,190 yen ($82) if you get a premium box.

Samurai Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends & Empires HD Version will also be sold as a three pack download for 4,500 yen ($45) or you can get the Xtreme Legends set for 3,000 yen ($30) or the Empires set for 2,700 yen ($27).

The Vita version will only be released as a PlayStation Network download. Tecmo Koei will sell the two sets, the Xtreme Legends bundle and the Empires package, as the same price as the PS3 counterpart.

oh man, I loved this game. I never got a chance to play SW 3 but I played the hell out of SW 2

Ah, Ginchiyo was such a super bad ass in this. She always wrecks Tadakatsu at Sekigahara.

Release this in the west, please. I really enjoyed Xtreme Legends on PS2 but never played the vanilla game or Empires(was that ever even released in the US?)

    Dynasty Warriors 4 HD Plz.

It’s gonna be pointless if not localize.

Vita version will be PSN only?
I was looking forward to this when I read the title, but it’s pointless if I wouldn’t have this as a physical release

Actually it’s not that far-fetched. I’m willing to bet Samurai Warriors 2 HD doesn’t include the same content at Samurai Warriors 2 XL and Empires…though Koei should have just released them all in one package.
