MagnaCarta Maker Blended Dungeon Crawlers And Card Games For A New RPG

By Spencer . July 17, 2013 . 2:25am

Games with digital trading cards are money printing machines in Japan and RPGs also make a pretty penny. Softmax, best known in the West for their work on MagnaCarta, are blending those two genres together to create Inner World. This RPG takes place inside a nightmare you can’t escape from.

The game has dungeons to explore and cards that represent characters in your party. NHN Hangame will bring Inner World to Japan and have crossover characters as a reward for completing in game events. Tichiel from TalesWeaver and Joan from the War of Genesis series are confirmed to be in the game.

MagnaCarta maker + card game = a nightmare.

Part of me was hoping for MagnaCarta 3!

    • artemisthemp

      Wasn’t MagnaCarta a 360 exclusive game?

      • solbalmung

The third one yea (but it’s called Magna Carta 2 tough). The very first one that wasn’t localized, named MC: The Phantom of Avalanche was out on PC. The 2nd one MC Tear of Blood (the first one to be localized) was out on both PS2/PSP.

I agree never played the first 2 and only played the demo of the latest one, but from what I played I wouldn’t mind MC3. And plus I could marvel at Hyung Tae kim’s character designs for eternity.

    Magna Carta…

So does that mean some of the cards are going to be illustrated by Hyung Tae Kim?

    • JustThisOne

      I wish. *___*

I really don’t get how so many of these games make so much money when there’s so many of them. Shouldn’t they just end up oversaturating the market and leaving like one or two games that actually make cash off this style?

  • BenderIsGreat

    It…. looks terrible.

Honestly, I didn’t like MagnaCarta’s “first this character, then this character” gameplay. I was using one character for the fights and not even bothering with the support characters, and as a result, lost interest in the game entirely. Shame, b/c I really though the story was going somewhere, and I loved the art.

    Oh well.
