By Spencer . July 22, 2013 . 8:20am

Shortly after publishing Bravely Default: Flying Fairy for Nintendo 3DS, Square Enix released a social game spinoff called Bravely Default: Praying Brage. Set after the events in Bravely Default, Praying Brage has descendants of the Bravely Default characters take on the lead roles.

Bravely Default: Praying Brage has over 400,000 players since the game launched. Square Enix plans on updating the game with voice acting and two ultra rare characters, a pope and an archbishop.

I loooove the art for Bravely Default, it’s so gorgeous!
Can’t wait to play the 3DS game!

  • TheExile285

Don’t get any bad ideas about forcing the sequel on PC, SE -_-

    • ManagedCorn

As long as it’s not a social game, I’m all up for a PC release.

    • Neophoton

They mentioned quite some time ago that if (or rather when) they do a sequel, it’ll be on 3DS because that’s where the initial players are at for the first game.

        GOOD

  • Zizal

I quit this game after i unlocked Edea’s costume.

Okay, so Bravely Default actually turned out to mean something… but what on earth does Praying Brage stand for?

    • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

I think it’s just an attempt to make it grammatically similar to “Flying Fairy”. “Brage” is apparently short for “browser game”.

      • puchinri

Flying Fairy also has context/meaning in-game though too (beyond the obvious), so I figured they’d be consistent all the way through.

Of course, there could be some meaning in there, but knowing both words (and little behind PB), I have no clue what it could refer to.

[Also, I thought they meant Brage as in the Norse context.]

Hm. Now that you mention it, ‘P’ and ‘B’ sounds are variants of the ‘F’ sound in Japanese pronunciation. Coincidence?

          • puchinri

Oho, I totally neglected that point as well~. Hmm, perhaps not. I wonder if they had put that much thought into the title (I wouldn’t put it past them and actually expect as much).

  • Antixono

Man,I can’t wait to play this game(Bravely Default flying fairy that is)its looks so epic.

Well they sure didnt waste time on this one, right to the social!
Cant say the trailer seemed all too appealing but i sure am looking forward to bravely default on 3DS

  • Pockystix

    2014 can’t come fast enough. . .

  • Neophoton

Surprised it’s been 6 months since I finished BDFF. Praying Brage isn’t really much of my cup of tea, I got bored with it fast when I played it months ago, but the people on there were fun to be around, so it wasn’t necessarily a bad experience, just felt BDPB wasn’t anything I’d play long term.

  • Alestaos

Still waiting for a EU release date of the 3DS game…hoping sometime this year is given a month

    • biskmater

        • biskmater

Wish you godspeed, my fellow gamer.
