Rockstar’s Agent Might Not Be Dead, Take-Two Interactive Files New Trademarks

By Spencer . July 23, 2013 . 1:06am

agentFirst revealed in 2009, Agent was announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive from Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games. Agent was described as an espionage game set during the Cold War. After the initial announcement, Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t said much about the title, but confirmed it was in development two years ago.

Perhaps, Agent is making progress because Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, registered two trademarks for Agent. Both trademarks are for use with video games, computer games, online video games, and various printed materials such as manuals and guide books.

I rather wait for a PS4 version now. I wonder if its still exclusive.

    • Solomon_Kano

After this many years, I’d prefer to see it on next-gen as well.

Exclusivity is dubious. Considering the last PS3 exclusive that disappeared came back multiplat though, I have my doubts as to Sony’s ability to maintain that.

    • Deathalo

Well considering how much Jack originally touted it, because it WAS exclusive, it’d be a big kick in the nuts if it wasn’t.

      • xXDGFXx

Be even bigger kick in the nuts because they traded off LA Noire, which they funded, for Agent. Rockstar would essentially be running off with their money.

EDIT: why did I write funny…?

        • Deathalo

You’re right, which makes me think there’s some sort of contract that can’t allow this to go multi… not for a while at least.

What a coincidence this happened around the time this cracked article came out

I literally just learned about this game yesterday from reading Cracked ^^
Cracked, keeping us in the loop since 1958

Figured it was still alive. Rockstar took hold of L.A. Noire in 2006 and it went dark for a good long while before we got any concrete news. Typically anything Rockstar cancels doesn’t get announced in the first place.

Should be interesting to see when and where the game rears its head.

Finally, coming in from the cold. Make it happen Rockstar.

Coming in from the Cold War…

For a moment there, I thought I was reading about The Agency from Sony. The one who we also didn’t heard anything new about it. This is the first time I hear about this game from Take-Two.

  • Shawn

i bet this game is multplatform now, same thing with destiny, It originally had a 1 year exclusive deal with micorsoft then the game got so big they canceled that i can see the same thing with this game diff situation

  • DCBlackbird

Oh yeah…. this game was hyped up some time ago…..

  • Phoenix_Apollo

All Rockstar has announced right now is GTAV, Agent, and an unknown openworld game. My guess is that after GTA V, story DLC and Agent will be the main focus for Rockstar North.

  • Closet_Ninja

Totally forgot about this game. hopefully it is something special/good cause after this long wait it better be
