Fantasy Life was a strong seller for Level-5 and an expanded version just came out in Japan today. Fantasy Life Link’s key new feature is online multiplayer. Up to four players can connect and fight Gigante monsters together. The game has a text chat feature and you can assign four messages to shortcut buttons. if you prefer to communicate by waving and bowing at other players, you can use Fantasy Life Link’s emote system. Players can also trade and give each other items as presents.

StreetPass features have been expanded too. If you pass another Fantasy Life Link! player their avatar will appear in your town.

Fantasy Life Link! is a 4,980 yen ($50) game, but if you already have Fantasy Life you can upgrade your game by purchasing the 2,000 yen ($20) Link! Kit pack as downloadable content. Fantasy Life has not been announced for the West, but a trademark for Fantasy Life filed in Europe hints at a potential overseas release.
