Sega’s Kingdom Conquest Is Getting A Gundam Makeover

We’ve seen Namco Bandai partner with other companies to make Gundam versions of popular video games. Dynasty Warriors Gundam capitalized on Japan’s fervor for the hack and slash Warriors games.

Now, Namco Bandai is making Gundam Conquest, which is basically Kingdom Conquest with Mobile Suits. The game has four factions the Earth Federation from Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeon Army, Earth Alliance from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and Z.A.F.T.

Just like Kingdom Conquest, Gundam Conquest is part simulation game where you build your colony and an action part where you storm through a city with a Gundam. Gundams have a main attack, sub attack, boost, and various skills to use. Gundam Conquest supports four players for cooperative multiplayer in the action part.

Gundam Conquest is slated for release later this year for iOS and Android. The game will be a free download with additional items to purchase as microtransactions.

That part about free download with microtransactions sounds worrisome

It’s kind of a staple for mobile games. The original Kingdom Conquest and its sequel are available in NA, and most likely EU, so it might be better to give it a try and see what kind of micro transactions they offer.

It seems the battle system follow Gihren no Yabou system. And considering we are building our own city and faction, this game actually sounds great lol.

Not bad, but I’m still waiting for a proper next-gen Ghiren’s Greed, Bamco. I’m hoping that by the time the last Unicorn OVA releases, we may hear something about that…
