Dengeki Online has shared some videos of Falcom’s latest RPG, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash. These videos are of a demo version that was available at a Play Community event earlier this month.

In this video you get a glimpse of the dungeon-crawling and battle elements, including Link Attacks and the T-Link feature. In addition, Dengeki has provided a gameplay video for six of the main characters. You can see them traveling through dungeons and fighting enemies, and some of them even show off their S Crafts.

  • Lord Búho

    I need to learn Japanese…

    • アティ

… play this game (forever dreams) T_T

  • Guest

    I need this game.!

  • Duc PC-QB

Damn the release date cant come soon enough !

  • 紅蓮

OMEGA ECLAIR!!!! Wait, what? Sara’s S-craft is a chocolate? D:

    • Prinnydoom

Eclair is french for lightning so its Omega lightning.

      • KuroNathan

so… its like adding chocolate to an electrical storm? :D

  • Altin

Good thing I am in Japan when this game is going to get released. I will get it for sure :D

    • Eric Harris

I will end up importing it a year down the road if it doesn’t come over. But I think it has an ok chance of actually getting localized.

      • Altin

I highly doubt that it is going to get localized. People still wait for Trails in the Sky SC, TC, Trails in the Blue, Trails of Zero…

        • Slayven19

Correction people still want trails of zero and AO not so much the other one’s.

          • Altin

To each their own mate, but what remains a fact is that none of them have been translated yet.

  • Nitraion

Since i never play this series i can only comment like this:

    • Eric Harris

totally feel it too. There are so few old school RPGs like this, on top of that, I’m liking the battle music, flow of battle, and magic special effects. Hope this gets translated.

    • Slayven19

I feel it too, shame my japanese isn’t all that far along yet to be able to play this to the fullest. Still buying it day 1 though :D.

  • The feel of this combat just looks so great! The battle animations and moves are very cool too. I’m going to be that guy…….. “Ahem”

    Localization pleeeeease! >_<

  • Raltrios

Mmm, looks just like TiTS’ combat system, only in 3D. Seems very familiar and comfortable.

  • honestly, if this get localize I stop asking for TITS SC!

    • DesmaX

      B-but… That FC cliffhanger…

      • MrTyrant

And we lost a lot of information about the whole serie and its lore.

      • Slayven19

A cliffhanger you can live without honestly. Now if you’ve said 3rd chapter then we’d get somewhere.

        • DesmaX

Now you’re going a bit too far.

But, hey, no the 3rd without SC

          • Slayven19

But were getting SC somewhere so that’s not the problem. I already played SC but I guess i’ll get it to support xseed. Problem is psp is dead so they aren’t going to benefit from releasing that game.

          • DesmaX

Sure. honestly, I just finished SC today. Imported the PS3 version… Which is a pretty crappy port, so I can’t see that one coming.

… Steam, maybe? Those were originally PC games

          • Slayven19

I’m new to steam actually, so is it really popular? I guess it should be more popular than psp if anything anyway so yeah maybe that’s the way to go. So SC is on ps3 you say?

Do you think the problems that the port has could be fixed with a western release? The ps3 version is the one that they should give us and I’m positive that it will at least sell more than the psp version in the west.

          • DesmaX

Well, PC Gaming is ruled by Digital Distribution, and Steam is the most popular service, so yeah, if you want your PC game to be popular, you gotta release it there. Also, Xseed did release some Ys games there, and it did pretty well for them.

Falcom ported all of the Sora no Kiseki games to the PS3 recently, actually (FC came out in December, SC in April and 3rd in June). But, well, they are direct PSP ports that uses the HD assets from the PC version (I mean, on my PS3 the game shows as a “PSP Remaster” instead of a “PS3” game)… No trophies, no adjustment on the controls (Both Analog sticks moves the character) and, worst of all, it doesn’t even fill the whole screen. Falcom would have a lot of work to do if Xseed would want to bring those versions to the west.

          • Slayven19

I see, thanks for the insight. In some ways it still might be better to bring it out on ps3 even with those limitations(even though I don’t think you can release a game in the U.S without trophies anymore) as it would still be better than psp. However from what you told me steam would be the best place for xseed to go. I guess vita couldn’t hurt to badly either even if its a long shot with that system as well.

    Also DEM CUT INS!

  • Crimson_Cloud

Someone should start Kickstarter campaign and translate this. I would gladly give this half of my salary. Seriously, seeing this made me feel like a kid again. Reminds me so much of good old psx/ps2 era.

  • MrTyrant

    Did they mention crossbell?

  • Slayven19

Yes that’s what I like to see gameplay vids.

  • I quite like the game graphics, but I think the character movement are a little bit truncated. I was hoping for a better treatment regarding this aspect of the game. Still hoping for a localization. My Psvita deserves more JRPGs.

  • leingod

Looks like a huge step-up from the last PSP game. Hope it gets localized!
