Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Collection Turns Demons In To Cards

By Spencer . August 1, 2013 . 1:18am

smtdcIndex has another social game spinoff on top of Persona 3 Social, Persona 4: The Play, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Hunter Zero. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Collection was just announced for Mobage and this title is based on the core Shin Megami Tensei series.

The story should sound familiar if you’re a fan of the series. Demons appear in modern day Tokyo and you have an application to summon demons. Like other Shin Megami Tensei titles you can fuse demons and there is an elemental skill system. Of course, demons are cards  in Devil Collection.

Service for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Collection will start in early August. If you register for the game early you’ll start with a SR rank Cerberus card.

Gotta squeeze those IP before we sell them off!

So this story has been out 4 hours already and yet no one is trying to say Atlus/Index are the worst most greedy company ever and yet when Square does this people are up in arms immediately and claim they are the antiChrist? I find these double standards amusing

    • RisukuAozora

I was GOING TO but your comment changed my mind.
Also considering that Atlus isn’t exactly in a good boat, people probably are gonna be a lot more forgiving to them. Also, 4 hrs ago was 3 AM, the east coast was asleep. I certainly was.

If you check the top of the article is says Spencer posted it at 1:18 am which is where the article has been up comment came from. I understand Atlus isn’t in a good boat but its not good to have double standards, my view toward the social game thing is I am not the audience so I have no room to say if something is good or bad and that goes for every company.

        • RisukuAozora

Yes, but i based it on wording. You posted the comment around when I replied (around 7 AM EDT). I read the article, not the time it was written.

Also, who said anything that we had double standards about this matter? People are just more vocal against Square Enix. Honestly, I don’t approve of Index doing this either.

        • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

The thing is, Atlus does not equal Index.

Tell it to the judge, Sora!

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Because square enix cant seem to make good games anyway so they are more inclined to that bullocks

      • Herok♞

Then again thats all really subjective, I enjoy most of Square’s games and would certainly say they are good, but with Square there is a huge divide in the fan base who would say the opposite.

        • Mike G. Moran

It’s not really a fanbase if they say the opposite of Square games are good. Square doesn’t have many genuine fans. They have people who are fanatical about one or two of their games, or at best one of their series like Kingdom Hearts.

But almost everyone I know gave up as far as being “loyal” to anything Square produces years ago. They got tired of the spinoffs and constant dumbing down of play mechanics.

Square games tend to sell well, but I wouldn’t say there are many legitimate fans out there so much as people that come and go.

        • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

People also respect Atlus. They publish alot of things that’d probably never have seen the light of day without their help.

The clearest example as of late would be Dragons Crown.

I think it’s mainly b/c Squeenix nickle and dimes people to death with IAP in their mobile games. Like most apps, if you buy it for $10-$15USD you dont then have to buy things AGAIN in the game to actually make it playable. The Chaos Rings series was fine with no IAP, (but MediaVision also made those lol) but things like All the Bravest have probably soured people on them quite a bit.

      >Atlus the most greedy company ever
      You tried.

      • DyLaN

I’m pretty sure tht not wht he was meant to say. Figure of speech/sarcasm, dude.

  • DyLaN

If it have a decent story/gameplay and got localized, will try it out.

  • 657rod

I´d love this mobage games to get localized, well I can keep dreaming bout it e_e

  • RichyGaming

Your fate is in the cards!

  • dahuuuundge
