image Namco Bandai is hoping to hit another slam dunk with Kuroko’s Basketball. The PSP game, Kuroko’s Basketball: Miracle Match, sold 80% of its shipment making it a success for Japan’s main anime game publisher.

Kuroko’s Basketball: Miraculous Victory is in development for Nintendo 3DS. Other than a teaser site with a picture of Tetsuya Kuroko there isn’t much information about the title. Even the game’s genre and release date are TBD.

I just want to dunk like Lebron J….err I mean Kagami Taiga!

LOL. That just reminded me how Slam Dunk back in the 90s had in-universe highschool teams like Shohoku Bulls, Ryonan Magic, Kainan Lakers, and the Shoyo Celtics, while Akagi resembled Patrick Ewing, in the words of Fred the Godson, “Knees hurt with no ring.”

As for this game itself, as long as there are no scrub characters in the league of Darko Milicic and Kwame Brown, I’d like to learn more about the series too.

Lebron James? Psssh, guy has nothing on the dunks of half-man, half amazing.

Aw, darn it. I almost thought that recent moe-loli basketball anime was getting a game. :( Faked me out.

We need Railgun’s Kuroko playing basketball.

I’m fairly sure that a large share of future buyers would be female.

Almost certainly, though I’m more curious whether this one will be good as anime licensed games are hit and miss. The Naruto, Bleach, One Piece and Dragon Ball ones tend to be much better with a few exceptions. Soul Eater on the Wii… >_>

I haven’t seen much of the PSP Kuroko game but it was smart enough to aim to feature all of the Generation of Miracles even if the anime only teased them at that point. I wouldn’t mind seeing some more content from the manga.
