Liberation Maiden Sin Flies Out In December

By Spencer . August 6, 2013 . 1:36am

imageLiberation Maiden Sin is definitely the most surprising sequel of 2013. Level-5 and Goichi Suda’s shooter turned into a visual novel care of Steins;Gate maker 5pb.

The story takes place after the 3DS game and follows Sin who is an aide of President Shoko Ozoro, you know the girl you played as in Liberation Maiden. Kiyoto has a special power that lets him read people’s thoughts. Suda will help write some of the story for Liberation Maiden Sin.

Liberation Maiden Sin is slated for release on December 5. The game will cost 7,140 yen ($72) and a limited edition will also be available with a soundtrack CD and drama CD for 9,240 yen ($93).

If you’re wondering how 5pb, Level-5, and Grasshopper Manufacture got together read this interview where the CEOs from all three companies talk about collaborating on Liberation Maiden Sin.

    Japan-only :(
    (Like Time Travelers..)

    • Desukoru

It might come over if it sells well. Time Travelers totally bombed in Japan, which is probably one of the key reasons why it didn’t come over.

-Time Travelers totally bombed in Japan, which is probably one of the key reasons why it didn’t come over.

So did PxZ and yet that came over.

Though this might be more tricky than PxZ considering Nintendo and all…

        • Tom_Phoenix

PxZ didn’t really bomb. it’s sales were underwhelming considering the amount of marketing Namdai invested in it, but it still sold roughly about as much as NxC did.

By comparison, Time Travelers performed extremely poorly even compared to other visual novels.

Don’t forget it’s a Visual Novel on the Playstation 3, which makes its translation very unlikely anyways (VNs rarely get translated when on handhelds, mostly when on PC, but not at all when on a console.. excluding Sakura Wars)

      And Tokuhou too….

I hope that comes to the states! This game was seriously an amazing treat!

I confess I wouldn’t hold my breath, but since its a pseudo sequel to an existing franchise, it may see some form of release here. Unless Nintendo assisted in the original’s foreign release, then possible legal hurdles.

  • raitouniverse

I guess the creators understand what they’re making here.

  • J_Joestar

It is just a VN right? wish it could also get a 3DS release, not like VNs are that tech heavy.

Eh. I don’t know really how to feel about this. I mean, I loved the 3DS one, but I don’t know if I can say the story was the best part of the game; having a spin-off that is all story might be kinda weird. But I’m sure this will be okay. It’s being done by 5bp, so I trust them. Plus its SUDA51, and he has never disappointed me.

=_= that price is a bit too much for my taste, I hope its a full fledged game at least. I beat the first game on hardest difficulty within 3 hours.

  • Damn, I still need to play the first one. I should get on that soon lol

    • kmantle

Be warned: the game is fun, but short as hell. 5 stages, 10-20 min. per stage

      • I see. That just means I can beat it quicker though lol =)

  • wahyudil

3DS got the egg, PS3 got the cake … poor 3DS

  • If only they would release this on America, that would be great.

  • Lemon

Gonna be pre-ordering this once it becomes available.

… So do you follow Sin, who has a mindreading power, or Kiyoto? The article kinda makes it sound like those two are different characters, or something.
