Dragon’s Crown just came out in North America and Atlus already has an update for the game. The patch announced for Japan improves network stability and adds a couple of gameplay tweaks. Here’s what in the Dragon’s Crown update released on PSN today:

- You can pickup hidden items with the finger cursor.

- The L1 button on PS3 and the L button on Vita can be used for item shortcuts.

- The dagger and bomb can be thrown diagonally by pressing the left stick up and pressing triangle.

- An added feature allows you to repair all of the items in your bag at once.

- The online menu has a feature to select an area so you can play with other adventures from the same region.

Atlus also made various tweaks to Dragon’s Crown to make it play better. One of these is making runestones more visible and expanding the number of arrows dropped if there are more Elves in the party.

    this why I love Atlus

  • Go2hell66

    i haven’t even unlocked online yet T_T

    • Kensloth

Same. Feel like it’s taking forever! I honestly dislike it greatly when games put multiplayer or some other feature behind some wall you must breach, but I forgive it in this case because the game is so awesome.

  • Kaitsu

LOL, I’ve yet to unlock online. Though one little thing I wished they add. Diagonal run, similar to how Dungeon Fighter had it.

I thought it was me because i was playing it very late, but it seems that wasn´t the cause T_T

Pretty good, can’t wait for it to hit over here, Loving the game (of course)

  • Zal_Yagun

Wow. The L remap for the vita was one of the only things was hoping for. Thank god for updates.

Now how long before this hits US.

  • 無尽合体ブランタコブスキ

Does the region menu have EU and AU as separate regions?

I haven’t read anything negative with the online play yet they’re already had an update to further improve it. That’s nice.

It’s pretty good, but it does have some small issues. When players join a game [initially, not when they show up to the battle] it lags big time for 3-4 seconds. That doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when things are hectic that’s recipe for a big ol’ mess. When people disconnect too, it takes forever to toss them out and as long as it takes to toss them, you can’t change screens – it can take quite a while too.

Other than that, it’s pretty spot on and despite that it’s still an amazing time.

Theres no communication whatsoever. That’s the only problem for me. There’s no way in telling the other players that you’re on a mission so you have to force your actions so if they’re perceptive enough, they could catch on because people can be inpatient or just rush things, skipping everything. Which is why I would recommend people to build their own party of friends.

The actual multiplayer play is quite good. The lobby system is… not so much.

If you want to play with friends instead of random people, you can’t invite them to your game. You need to go stand in the gate/stables and wait with open slots for them to join. That’s assuming the game doesn’t think you’re in another area where they can’t join yet, which yesterday it was doing to me, frequently.

That required stuff like leaving/entering the zone again or turning off/on network play to make it update the location and let you join. Also if you actually enter a dungeon before they’ve joined, the game might fill the open slots with random other people instead. Slots are either open or closed, there’s no such thing as a friends only slot.

Once you finish the dungeon, you’re sent back to your respective towns and have to do the join dance again in order to do another one. You don’t stay connected.

As mentioned by someone else, there’s no communication in game at all. If you have voice chat, it helps tremendously.

It really strikes me as odd that they made such glaring omissions in the “playing with your friends part”, because the MP play itself once you’re in the dungeon was awesome for us.

Only a few hours in, but still haven’t unlocked online play. But still enjoying the heck out of it, despite having AI party members.

  • HassanJamal

DC is amazing on vita. Dat art and animations!

  • The Watcher

once you unlock MP the whole dynamic of the game changes

  • Brion Valkerion

cool beans, been playing dwarf and was thinking man id like to throw diagonally, not really but now I want to!

  • Linhua

… another thing that’s been getting me… and I hope i’m not the only one having trouble with this… but…

… I have been having a HELL of a time trying to double tap the analog stick to run…. XD

… i’m almost ALMOST used to using square to run and just letting go of the analog so I don’t attack… but this doesn’t feel very comfortable.

… gotta say, a Diagonal Run would be AWESOME since we’re getting Diagonal Throws.

… hopefully, enough of us brings this to Atlus’ attention… which… probably won’t happen… lol.

    • PoweredByHentai

Use the D-pad for movement and set the analog stick for items. That’s what I ended up doing.

      • Linhua

… wow that’s… a hell of a lot better… I dunno why the hell I didn’t think to try this before.

… now if I can just get used to using the Analog for selecting items…

        • PoweredByHentai

Yeah, I’ve never been fond of using the analog stick for precision movement. It is convenient, yes, but double-tap on the D-pad to dash is just more intuitive and less annoying than trying to tilt the whole analog stick in a particular direction for the same function.

          • Linhua

… i’m completely in agreement here. I’ve always used the D-Pad for most things… especially fighting games, but they started me off with the analog and I thought nothing of it… until I couldn’t dash… XD

… thank you for bringing this back to my attention.

… i’ve gone through a few dungeons and I think it’s growing on me. I feel a lot more vicious out on the battlefield now… and my agility has definitely increased.

  • BenderIsGreat

I’m…. gonna have to buy the Vita version of this too, aren’t I….

  • Valtiel Ikari

I’m definetly getting this game, since finally got a Vita!

  • disqus_VYqqwQ8BRH

When this going in the Arcades this looks Great i buying this

  • Testsubject909

So… I want that L button for item shortcuts. It’ll work so much better then pressing up on the D-pad.

  • Erwin MadJelly

Wait.. Did they Ignore Asia again?! Or the Patch hasn’t arrived for other regions yet?
