Rozen Maiden Game For PS3 & VIta Starts With A Choice – To Wind Or Not To Wind

rosen Rozen Maiden: Wechseln Sie Welt ab (Cross Over from Her World) is a visual novel developed by 5pb, to coincide with the third season of the Rozen Maiden anime airing in Japan now.

As Rozen Maiden fans know, the story is centered around Jun, a middle school shut-in who receives a mysterious letter with the words "To wind" and "Not to wind". When Jun circles the former, he becomes engulfed in a battle between seven living Victorian-era dolls who must fight each other to become the perfect doll.

However, when Jun circles "Not to wind", he continues his dull life, eventually mustering the willpower to enter college and get a part-time job, leading a mediocre life — until he receives an e-mail from his past self and the dolls drift their way into his world.

Rozen Maiden: Wechseln Sie Welt ab is a conventional visual novel with decision-making points and branching storylines. The very first branching point is "To wind" or "Not to wind." Depending on which option you choose, you can follow the story of middle school Jun or college Jun.

Why’s “-desu” queen’s face look so wrong?

    >.<

  • kamion

Where the heck does that English title come from, lol?

A translation would be more like “Take turns with the world” or “Alternate the World”… something like that. “Abwechseln” means “to take turns” “to alternate”

Not that the German title really makes any sense, but that translation is just plain wrong.

    • Yggdr5

I have to agree. It means something like “change the world” or, because it sounds a little bit awkward, the intention could have been something like “Take turns with the world” as kamion said.

    • Laith Rem

Thanks to what happens on the story, while the translation is awkward, from what you are saying, it is fitting. There’s probably a better way to put it, true, but it definitely gets the message across.

    • fireemblembeast

Yeah I thought it was a weird German title too and you’re right- it should be something like “alternate (vocative) worlds” or “switch the world”. Gotta love this series for its use of German lol

    • Kevin Schwarz

It’s like any engrish tittle from Japan, they don’t make sense.

  • DyLaN

I guess the OP will be the same one from the anime? (Its a pretty good OP though).

So the VN is basically a retelling + what if scenario base on the anime/manga?

  • Jesse

Huh, that’s pretty neat. I’m glad it doesn’t just go and have the game end if you chose not to wind up the doll.

DAMN! Was hoping for an action, rpg style Rozen Maiden game, but this is nice too I guess lol. I love the Rozen Maiden series =^_^=

  • zferolie

While this is cool(I really like the idea that you can play both story lines. That is pretty cool and a great way to cover the whole series.) Like AzureNova said, I would like to see some sort of Action/RPG game where you could pick the doll you wanted.

I would pick Suigintou because while I love Shinku and Suiseiseki, Suigintou is the best in the show.

  • fireemblembeast

Darn it! A visual novel… I was hoping it would be like Gebetgarten for ps2.
