New Atelier Rorona Extended With Post Game Content

Gust is giving Atelier Rorona a complete makeover instead of a port. New Atelier Rorona: Origin Story of the Alchemist of Arland has a new model for Rorona. "Classic Rorona" from the original PlayStation 3 game is on top and "New Rorona" is below.

In addition to enhanced graphics, New Atelier Rorona has a revamped battle system based on Atelier Meruru Plus and a Time Capsule feature. Players can put items in the Time Capsule which will change in different ways. If you have save data from Atelier Totori or Atelier Meruru there will be more variations on how items can change.

Gust added an Extra Time mode which you can access after clearing the game. New Atelier Rorona will have additional dungeons, events, several more maps maps, and a boss said to be the strongest in Atelier history.

New Atelier Rorona will be released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in November. The game supports cross save so you can start the game on Vita and continue your progress on your PS3.

  • Andrew Arndt

Im really looking forwed to this i might hold odd on my lp of this do th remake instead ;D

  • Melvin Kwan

    Is it cross-buy?

    • No.

    • TheExile285

Only 1st party titles and some indie games are cross buy.

  • sherimae1324

wow, this is really a total makeover of the first one, now my arland trilogy on vita will be complete ^_^

  • AxionAzure

I tend to be a very patient, calm and collected person, but please let me be weak this time and say: I can hardly wait!!

  • chibidw

Wait, how do you post-game a game that’s designed around a calendar system?

Do you just shift into some unmoving temporal hell where time never advances no matter how long you sleep? That’s scary.

    • Kevadu

Maybe the calendar gets extended? Just a thought…

    • Norbert Gespenst

I think it’s more like you’re timed for the main portion and for post game the limit is removed or you can do it all in that one day like in mana khemia

    • yalissa

Maybe you get an extra year like in Totori, Meruru, and Ayesha. That’s the only thing I can really think of.

      • Magicks

Ayesha gets an extra year? I thought that they don’t give you the extra year and have you do everything within the three years timeframe? *still in the process of completing the game*

        • It’s more like it’s entirely possible to just beat the game before the third year hits (I just did that last night, and I could’ve done it a LOT sooner than that had I not messed up), so Ayesha… TECHNICALLY gets an extra year. Just yes, the game will end automatically after three full years. Any extra time is entirely dependent on your abilities.

    • William Hsia

the way most timed atelier games work is that you can beat almost everything before the end of the third year, and although the original rorona didn’t have it would extend your current playthroughs time while adding a new objective, A.K.A post game events, in this case, it seems they are adding a extra year

Can someone tell me if this is a good starting point for the series

    • Kevadu

The original Rorona was failry mediocre but if they fix it up with this version then I would say it’s a great starting point. Then you can move on to Totori and Meruru.

  • Malon

My soul against a physical release in US & Europe !

    • artemisthemp

PS3 most likely would get a Psyhical release, while Vita version will get Digital Download only :(

      • Malon

      • michel

But it should be the opposite!…

        • TheExile285

How? This is a niche series and the PS3 install base us bigger than the Vita one.

As long as the West gets the Vita version, I don’t care about the format TBH.

          • michel

My reasoning is that the “PS3 install base” who enjoys Atelier games already has got the original Rorona…

          • Blackbishop

However, the old version is not the same as the new version. Not that you can upgrade your old version with the new content either.

This would be comparable to players getting Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and then Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 when it was released.

  • This game looks lovely! All three of them do!

  • Alexander Aubert

is it me or is she prettier?

    • XiaomuArisu

      She is,she really is

  • Aristides

lol remaking a game for the system it was originally made for in the first place XP this console generation has definitely been too long. A welcome addition nevertheless, especially the Vita version :P

    • Slayven19

Well when they first made this game they were new to the ps3 systerm especially with designing 3D so I can forgive them for this.

  • Rogerrmark

Coryyyyyyy, missed her D:. The extra dungeon will be a nice plus.

  • Mr_SP

Finally, Rorona’s pudgy fingers have been cured!

  • Maps maps. XD

  • KuroNathan

I wonder if you get the vita version does it count the Totori and Meruru plus saves?

  • Presea

I love that Sterk screenshot, he looks really great! Cory looks really adorable as well! I wonder what the strongest boss would look like, it sounds interesting.

  • Yan Zhao

Ahhh young Sterk, in enhanced graphics.
