Dragon’s Crown Comes To Europe On October 11

By Spencer . August 14, 2013 . 7:06pm

imageEurope doesn’t have to wait too much longer for Dragon’s Crown. NIS America will bring the game to Europe on October 11. Just like the release in Japan and North America, an art book will be included as a pre-order bonus at select retailers.

PAL gamers will also be able to download a demo for Etrian Odyssey IV on August 15. Atlus and NIS America have a publishing agreement to bring Atlus’ titles to Europe, which started with Persona 4: Golden.

Wow, that’s really good news for my Europe brothers. Now they get to experience the awesome that is Dragon’s Crown!! :D

  • Erwin MadJelly

That’s good news!! But I wonder.. Why the long release date?

    • DesmaX

That’s like, tomorrow, for Atlus Games

They need to convert the game from NTSC from PAL, if I’m correct. Apparently Atlus don’t bother with that when they’re working in the US version

      • PoweredByHentai

Um, I thought the whole point of HDMI was to get rid of the whole NTSC/PAL format?

        • DesmaX

          … Yeah?
Idk, lol. I know they have to do something in Europe before release

          • PoweredByHentai

I think the biggest issue with the European market has been the requirement that games at least have localized text for their respective markets.

I don’t recall seeing any French text on either of my copies of DC. That is probably why NIS America is publishing it for Europe instead of Atlus.

          • GH56734

Not really. Europe got the English-only Devil Survivor a year after the US, and that’s the standard treatment for niche Atlus games.

      • You don’t really need to convert with PS3 games, they work in all locations. Mostly translation/legal woes, I think.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    Couldn’t they just import?

    • Vitor Duarte

Yes we could but the taxes are unbearable.

    • Abysswalker90

      Not for Vita.

      • Tsukino

Vita isn’t region-locked, you’re just stuck with whatever region’s Store your current memory card’s account is in. You can play games from other regions from a retail card no problem.

  • FX102A

I now regret buying the US PS3 version for the artbook. Wonder if the save files are region locked?

Still sealed though, could either return it or sell it.

  • Yggdr5

The best news is that we also get the artbook. European releases of Atlus games never feature any of the extras, despite being almost twice as expensive, so it’s nice to see that NISA Europe cares for their fans.

    • Kevin Schwarz

That book is truly a piece of ART!

Thanks for this NIS!!! So getting this day one.

  • SirRichard

A week after Wind Waker HD and right in front of Pok√©mon, probably not the best timing but hey, at least we’re getting it.

  • Ardus

    Soon my dwarf/wizard soon…

  • artemisthemp

I just hope GAME ain’t the Select Retailer, since we all know that they don’t give pre order bonus to Non-uk ppl

  • Jontaku

Great news. I’m just not sure whether I should get it on PS3 or vita.

    • Kitzunestarwind

You will find it easier to touch the screen instead moving cursor with joystick, especially finding hidden item or use the rune. However, the small screen is difficult to see, But not take a long time time to adapt.
warning: This game may hurt your health.

  • I’m glad the folks in Europe are getting this.

  • Cyrus

Or if you’re an impatient bastard like me, you’d have imported the game instead. =D

  • ShadowDivz

Im happy for our european bretheren!
    Enjoy the game guys.

  • Milla

Too late, already had the game since JP release. and by the time it releases most players be done with the game. @[email protected]

  • Jake_Indiman
