Kamehameha! Rasenshuriken! Flying Fork! I imagine J-Stars Victory Vs. will sound like that when Namco Bandai releases the crossover fighting game. J-Stars Victory Vs. brings together Shonen Jump characters like Goku from Dragon Ball and Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho. This batch of screenshots shows Toriko, Luffy, Naruto, and a glimpse of Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.

J-Stars Victory Vs. is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

This game looks so awesome. I can’t wait to use toriko and gintoki.

It sad how bleach fell so bad from grace ichigo isn’t even mentioned as a big name anymore. :/

        Nah, to me, it only got unreadably bad when the Fullbringer shit started. Coincidentally, it seems Japanese TV viewers agree with me since the ratings plummeted so bad that they cancelled the anime… :/

        Yeah, I just personally think when Aizen started doing stupid things like that is when it started to go down hill, not that it was awful just yet. Fullbring arc was utter crap though.

        That’s because at this point it almost IS the worst shounen manga ever. Most manga do not get this low in quality of writing.

        Hold on, there’s a lot of manga in Shonen Jump as well as other magazines that are even more lackluster from the very beginning. Examples: Sengoku Armors, Lock-On (which were axed in less than 20 chapters).
        Note that I know other series than Bleach like Toriko, Reborn, Gintama, Sket Dance that are truly interesting and enjoyable, but I figured the ones who a) had a lot of hype but soon it vanished (ex, Hungry Joker), or b) were destined to sink from the very beginning (ex. Takamagahara, Koisuru Edison).
        In conclussion, if Bleach is this low at the moment, better not get started on those series who were EVEN lower and never rose to the spotlight. And this is worrying because Jump needs new blood and at the described situation, there’s no light at the end of the tunnel…

        Yes, because Ginjo was totally unique with how his face looked like Aizen lol. Really though, Ginjo and Tsukishima were the only good characters in it. The rest of them were unique, but all far too uninteresting.

        You know… for one who paid close attention to everything that happened since the start of the Arrancar Arc, loose ties like who exactly is the Soul King or the Zero Division, as well of the real reason behind Masaki’s death.
        I’m not saying that as a fan of Bleach (I admit I’m still one as well as some slipping), but finishing without answering that would be suicide.

        Bleach was great up to the moment Aizen was sealed, the series was still popular up till then and that’s where the show should have ended.

  if kubo didn’t fucked up the hype because of how bad he wrote the whole Aizen saga. Bleach was my favourite jump comic until mid of aizen saga where the’re alot of chapters that had ZERO story progress. I still think that that the aizen saga should have been 80 chapters at most

Why did they go for this weird CG-like style graphics? Given that it’s all about manga characters, something cel-shaded like Ultimate Ninja Storm would have been much better.

  Actually in mention of specifically another game, a rep from CC2 was asked in interview why they decided to go for the more anime-like cell shading and asked if it was easier. He said they did it to appease the fans more for this game to stick true to the anime but it was in fact harder to do cell shading, that CG was actually far easier. This being a crossover game doesn’t need to focus too hardly on sticking to the style since it’s all about the characters and the gameplay while still making it look good, and honestly the CG still does look good so thats all that matters. Point is it’s harder to do cell shaded graphics so they are probably putting that effort to better use.

    I can imagine that cel-shading is harder. That said, it’s always weird for me to see a manga-based game with CG graphics. It also happened with the newer Dragon Ball titles.
    
    I imagine Naruto is kind of an exception, then. I wish it weren’t, though. One Piece Musou wasn’t quite the same, but still looked closer to the original style than this game.

      Yeah but this style still looks really good, it’s not even a case of good vs bad as more so different vs original. Plus there’d be little purpose in putting in so much work for a game not releasing anywhere but Japan. It is weird but by no means bad, I personally love it and think it’s top notch graphics (for both this AND the DBZ game). I just don’t really blame them here especially as good as it does look, at this point it doesn’t need cel-shading.

Who would win is an odd question for news but Goku is the strongest out of the four if you’re wondering lol. Now if they stuck Seiya in he would rofl stomp all four of them easily but yeah lol.

  It’s always kind of strange to compare people within different series. For example, Goku can blow up galaxies, but chances are that he would lose against even some of the weaker Jojo enemies who rely on meta-physical powers rather than brute strength.
  
  Besides, even within the same series, games have to be balanced. I don’t think you’d ever see Vegetto lose against a Saibaiman, but in a game it could happen if you have a more skilled player use the latter :P

    Well… Goku can’t blow up galaxies. He can’t even blow up a star really, even counting the new movie. People always overestimate DBZ strength but he could still take out everyone introduced so far (maybe not Gintoki only because I don’t know his stats) if we’re talking characters alone. Of course gameplay should be balanced though, I was just stating how odd it was for a news update to ask that haha.

        Most of Medaka Box’s characters could defeat Goku.
        
        All of them are over-powered inmortal beings.
        
        On Saint Seiya most characters have infinite power and on top of that the dont break this with their fists, they literally destroy atoms.
        
        Sagas’s “Galaxian Explosion” is the equivalent of 2 galaxies crashing and exploding, and he is not the strongest character.

        Umm… No lol. Goku at most can destroy up to the mass of 10 planets in SSJ1 ONLY after the end of the new movie. As far as before the movie/beginning? It takes Goku full power SSJ3’s full power to barely destroy the mass of ten planets (aka, King Kai’s planet which is ten times the density of earth) and might I remind you that one basic star can fit one million Earths inside of it? Goku cannot even destroy a star, even after the end of the new movie, let alone a galaxy.
        
        Krillin also never destroyed a planet of any kind so I have no idea where you’re getting that from. We have to see it in canon before you can assume it.
        
        GT never happened, it’s non canon, and even if you wanted to look at it, based on feats, SSJ4 is weaker than SSJ3 (one of the many reason’s GT is inconsistent) so yeah. SSJ4 isn’t a thing.
        
        Mind you, Goku is still stronger than the other three mentioned characters, but he is not THAT powerful, that’s just a fact.

  It’s all hypotheticals when you combat heroes from different mangas though. Goku can probably win in a straight up fight between any person given thus far, but have Light write his name in a book and even the mighty super saiyan is kinda dead.

    Yeah but when you pit characters against each other in a versus match you pit them against each other, in a fight, head to head, counting only canon feats of strength and power unless stated otherwise (Ex. specifying GT Goku since GT wasn’t canon, or Goku before a certain point) in which case you look at how fast they are from what they show, how strong they are from what they can blow up.
    
    Say in a fight between Goku and Light, it’s a fight so they are going at each other without reason, Goku knocks out light before he writes in the death note. You can’t assume a fight where Light is far away and can write his name, that’s not really a fight, being why no one pits them against each other lol.
    
    So yes it’s hypotheticals, but it’s educated and calculated hypotheticals. Until people start overestimating DBZ that is lol. But Goku could beat the three mentioned characters as well as the rest, I just don’t know about Gintoki if he were added since I know nothing of him lol.

  Even in the special episode of One Piece where Luffy, Toriko and Goku gathered up on an island to compete for a legendary piece of meat, everyone pretty much stood in awe of Goku with everyone expressing great interest in his strength…

  Luffy’s would be a lot higher than you think he is. Remember, he doesn’t use any supernatural powers other than the Gomu Gomu no mi, but his raw physical power is far, far higher than Naruto and easily stronger than Toriko(though Toriko has the ability to imagine stuff and make it reality, though even that is based upon your ability to make the other person BELIEVE the illusion, and I don’t know how that would work against a wielder of the Conqueror’s Haki.)

I don’t even know who Toriko is… he looks kinda like a smirking Kenshiro with Goku-colored overalls. The others in the roster are looking pretty good, though. Hope they put Seiya in there somewhere.

Hmm… Goku has an advantage if he goes Super Saiyan, but Luffy’s different Gears are quite powerful as well. However, if Toriko packed along or stumbles across some choice cuisine, you can look forward to him dishing out some powerful attacks that can match any of theirs.

The characters models look like PVC statues for this game. I think they would have come out better using some kind of cel-shading visuals, but I think this works fine and still cool.
