Pokétretta Battle Trademark Hints That Pokémon Tretta Lab May Be Localized

By Spencer . August 23, 2013 . 1:14am

image Hot on the heels of the Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament trademarks we found, Siliconera discovered four more Pokémon trademarks filed in the USA.

The Pokémon Company registered Pokétretta Battles and Pokétretta Tournament for use with video games. These trademarks are likely connected to Pokémon Tretta Lab, a Nintendo 3DS game that scans Tretta discs developed by Marvelous AQL.

Siliconera also found trademarks for Pokéfigure Arena and Pokéfigure. Pokéfigure Arena sounds like it could be a game that uses NFC figures, something Nintendo experimented with when they released Pokémon Rumble U.

I love Pokemon but I think I’ll pass. I don’t want to buy a game AND a bunch of discs too.

  • leingod

Dunno if I’m the only one, but I’d really love a regular RPG Pokemon game on Wii U.

    • Kai2591

      I’d buy a Wii U for that.

Just not a main series game. Part of the joy of Pokemon is being able to play it anywhere. Locking me down to a TV would totally kill momentum.

      • leingod

But doesn’t every Pokemon game have different characters / setting? I can’t see why a name would make the difference.
