By Spencer . August 27, 2013 . 1:08am

GungHo Online Entertainment will release Puzzle & Dragons Z on December 12. Early purchasers get a Puzzle & Dragons Z stylus as a bonus.

The Nintendo 3DS game has the same core mix of drop matching and monster catching the smartphone game is known for with added RPG elements. Given the popularity of Puzzle & Dragons in Japan, Puzzle & Dragons Z should be a major release for GungHo.

    • School Idol Addict

Already confirmed, for winter i think.

    • Renaldi Saputra

there is, but I’m afraid many ppl will bash it with: “pokemon rip-off”, etc

      • Otoya

Nah, i dont think so. Puzzle and Dragon is a good game. Cant wait to play this too

        • Renaldi Saputra

I hope so, but there’s so much over-proud pokemon fags will say “pokemon’s better” or “oh, another pokemon rip-off”, and so on.. even in US..
That’s what happened to bakugan, and another monster raising series

          • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

This is nothing like Pokemon though..

Its more comparable to dungeon crawlers

          • Renaldi Saputra

I know it, but well you know..
            Dragon Tamers, Dragon Partner, blahblahblah..
an ordinary person (mostly in US, as I experienced) who only know pokemon for -mon series will only say: “It’s a pokemon rip-off”

bcos they mostly think “Pokemon is the Original, the others (another mon series ex: Digimon, Monster Farm, Legendz, Bakugan, etc) are just copies and rip-offs..”

despite many differences on each other

          • Otoya

Sometimes fan are just being over react to things. LOL

  • PreyMantis

It gives me a gotta catch-em’ all vibe…

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

If you like solving puzzles lmao

  • Neophoton

I’m down for this. I played the mobile version and only stopped once it started to become more imperative on buying cash shop items to progress. Furthest I’ve gotten was rank ~50, but I’d gladly invest more time into this release.

Why is this game so popular? Isn’t it bejewel with a storyline?
I’ll never understand why it hooks so many people.

Unless I’m WAY off course in which case I apologize.

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

      The Phone game? Kind of.

      This 3DS game?

Its an Monster RPG, that has dungeon crawler styled battles that you use puzzle strategies to maximize battle potential with standard mon-genre faire in puzzle form.

Aka its taking something thats addictive and multiplying it in an RPG setting
