Now they need to release a Wii U -> Wii U data transfer and all is right!

  • Kari

In two months time it will all be over..

  • Sergio Briceño

I think it’s not such a bad deal. Now taking into consideration that both the Xbox One and PS4 are coming out in November…

    • ronin4life

They are launching With a 100~200$ higher price without overhead considered, with no BC and No Free Game… Plus online fees.
If Anything, They may make WiiU look Better…

      • Sergio Briceño

It’s just that, considering both the games and price of the consoles, both the PS3 and Xbox360 seemed like better deals than the Wii U, and that controller screen certainly doesn’t appeal much to anyone, at least not at this point in time (we’ve yet to see a current generation Zelda, Metroid, or Starfox game).

With this price drop and free Zelda game and encyclopedia vouchers, it does look competitive, against current generation systems at least. But not so much (if at all) against the next generation systems, since both the PS4 and Xbox One have more appealing games at launch and they are all exclusives to either platform (Dead Rising, Destiny), or at least exclusive to Wii U (Battlefield 4).

I was hoping Nintendo would lower the price on the Wii U and Sony on the Vita, I just wish they did a little sooner. Even the most hardcore Sony fans would, in my opinion, consider spending their money on several PS4 titles rather than on the now discounted Vita and Killzone Mercenary, no matter how good it looks.

The only reason I’m getting a Wii U and not an Xbox One or PS4 on launch isn’t price related, trust me. It’s just that I usually wait until the next hardware revision before I buy one. That way there is a bigger collection of games, more discount sales, bigger community, lots of reviews to base my purchases on and hopefully less issues with the console. The Wii U is still too overpriced for me, but I will buy it, because I want to support the company that will continue to bring me Zelda. It’s just a shame it’s taking so long.

        • Herok♞

I am going to get a PS4 one day but the launch line up is crap, I have my Wiiu and PS3 so I have no reason to get one.

        • Eder García

“It’s just that, considering both the games and price of the consoles, both the PS3 and Xbox360 seemed like better deals than the Wii U” yeah, PS360 will be a menace for Nintendo just because of GTA5

        • Tiredman

All I can say is more appealing games for who? None of the ps4 / xbox one games do anywhere near as much to hype me up compared to the Wii U game selection. PS4 and Xbone just give more of the same we have had for the last 6 years while the Wii U is going in all directions, and turning heads by doing so.

          • Sergio Briceño

My point exactly. The Wii U currently has very few good games, if any. It is though, going to release a few good games very soon, like SSBU and SM3DW. But both PS4 and XB1 are coming out with a lot of “improved” experiences from last generation. So far no Nintendo game has turned my head, but Titanfall got me to dance and cheer and Infamous 2 showed me why it’s the king of that genre.

Also everything they are going for. Bigger games, better and improving AI, custom achievements, community integration, awesome graphics, 4K movies playback, game library and profile accesible anywhere, etc. And that 5th player/game master thing? they got it too with their tablet integration.

As I said. I know that one day the Wii U controller will prove it’s worth. It’s just a matter of time before a Zelda U or Metroid comes out. It’s just a bad investment right now. I will still buy it pretty soon though, for the reason I explained in my previous comment.

          • Tiredman

I don’t really care about Mario, Metroids, and so on. I am getting a Wii U for Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, X, Earthbound, and to be honest the new Mario Kart looks like it will be a blast. I am just kind of tired of dark gritty games that the other two consoles have in spades. I am at a time in my life where just pure, good fun is what I want and that is a Nintendo console through and through. I am also hoping Nintendo gets a lot more snes games up on their eshop, including games I would love to play again that weren’t exactly main stream back in the snes days, like an rpg called Inindo, and this one game that I just plain can’t remember what it was called, but was an Action RPG with a mascot type character as the main character.

The Wii U hits a sore spot for me, which is boredom from the same old games I have been playing for almost a decade now. All these fps’s and other gritty games were fun for the first 5 years, but not enough people are finding new ways to do them, which makes them just more of the same dreary, dark colored messes. But eh, thats just how I feel.

          • Sergio Briceño

You are right, I forgot just how nicely P+ is treating the Wii U.

About the action RPG with a mascot character, do you mean this one?
Though Rocket Knight was just an action game, but whenever anyone says action game starring a mascot on the SNES, I think of that one XD

          • Tiredman

Nope, it had like a 2.5d viewpoint iirc, and had dungeons you explored, and bosses, but was a lot more light hearted than a game like zelda. I remember playing it a lot when I was yount, back in the mid 90’s probably. Guess I will go check out Wikipedia for snes games for a few minutes.

          • Tiredman

Found it The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang.

          • Sergio Briceño

Never played this before. Looks like a gem.

          • Tiredman

No clue if it holds up today, but it is just fun to play some old games sometimes, and I remember enjoying my time with that game when I was younger.

      • Christopher McNair

That BC and free game did so much to move the Wii U for the past 10 months, right?

  • Judgephoenix

Still not worth it for me. Maybe if they get Mario Party Online with every stage from the past. Other than that not a fan of Nes games(except Metroid) anymore. Only game I like on the System is MH3U. Wish they would have taken this time to build a new model with better online infrastructure. Just wish Nes had better 3rd party exclusives it would give me a chance to probably get it. I do love my 3DS though :)

  • TheGioG

Was trying my damnedest to hold off on one until Smash Bros 4’s release drew near, but no more excuses, this is a day one buy for me (comes bundled with the HD version of the game that MADE my childhood).

    • Aoshi00

Would’ve so gotten this if I don’t have a Wii U alrdy, 50 bucks cheaper w/ a Zelda motif and Winder Waker HD & artbook d/l.. It’s like the system is just a little over $200..

Before I actually traded in my black 3DS and got a Zelda 3DS during Xmas.. but I don’t think I could do the same for the Wii U, too expensive, and no transfer kit yet (I transferred everything on my Wii to the Wii U alrdy).. oh well, I’ll live w/ my Famicom faceplate for the controller *.*;.. man, this is a great deal, to get ready for Smash Bros, Bayo2, Wonderful 101, etc.. kept telling myself no day 1 console, but I never learned.. I’ve actually only played Mario all this time, well I did get the 30 cents games on VC though..

  • BadenBadenPrinny

Off by a few months :( At least I can play the physical version of Super Luigi U right now

  • SerendipityX

I will be picking up the Zelda bundle even though I will never play the game.

    • Herok♞

      send me the game then.

  • KingGunblader

Price drop and a special Zelda bundle? Geez, Nintendo, why didn’t you just call me on my cell and say “Hey, that excuse you’ve been waiting for to get a Wii U has arrived!”

  • Leon_Tekashi

So wait if the deluxe version’s new price is $299, that would mean the wii u regular will probably be about $249, which means the price will be similar to the price when the first version of the wii came out about 7 years ago.

    • wahyudil

the regular will be stopped and recalled

      • James Enk

        i think so too

  • Lavitz

    A code?

    • Tiredman

Why not? I thought the same way you did then it occurred to me, buy the Wii U 32 gig for $299 with the demo game, or……buy the Wii U for $299 and get zelda. Either way it will cost the same, but at least a more attractive game comes with the Zelda bundle. You won’t find the system for $249 without a game, so its really just a choice of what do you want to come with your system, the demo game, or Zelda.

      • Lavitz

Or nothing, which is what I choose. Nintendo’s getting cheap with their bundles by making everything digital and I’m not interested.

  • As a Zelda fanboy I’d buy this if I didn’t already have a 32gb Wii U.

  • wahyudil

I want Nintendo land as I still has the Game Cube version and has finished it twice …

  • AlteisenX

I realize they updated the game and all, but this still doesn’t seem worth it for me. I still have a working copy of the original, and no other game so far interests me that is released/has a release date. I’m waiting for SMT x FE, and Project X at the very least.

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

This winter is going to pretty interesting with how the console are priced only one hunend US dollars apart (499 xbox one, 399 ps4, 299 wii u). Whose guns will be blazing the most, hyped. Verily, will price be the defining factor for whom sells more?

    Nice bundle set.

  • SlickRoach

At this point a bundle like this may not deter many people from getting a PS4 when it comes out. Doesn’t help that now it seems a 3DS is the only thing a Nintendo fan needs since it’s library is growing at an alarming rate and the new graphics in WW HD somehow look less cell-shaded for some odd reason.

    • Herok♞

I have my Wiiu already and I already decided against getting a PS4 day one since its launch is crap if you already have a current gen system and don’t want the newest shiniest thing.

  • Presea

I’ve been Wii U off for a while in hopes we get something like this. I really like this bundle!

  • AuraGuyChris

Is the price also affecting the Zelda bundle too?

    • Blobghetti

Yes, the Zelda bundle is also $299.99

  • decorated with gold symbols? hyrules crest? grrr if i had the money id trade in my wii u for this one

  • KonjikinoSora

Now my Nintendo Land bundle looks like garbage.

  • DS23

    Long overdue.

  • JNT

Too bad the game itself looks ugly… too much broom, they look like plastic dolls. But throwing Hyrule Historia on it makes it interesting and I don’t have a Wii U so…

  • rurin

    omg want…

there’s just too many things to buy in the upcoming months >.<

  • Glad I held off on getting a Wii U this summer. I will probably get this by the end of the year, if I can rustle up enough money.

  • King Omega 34

i need more storage space and an updated online store with full games on it available for download

  • King Omega 34

Once nintendo brings out a bundle with more hard drive space (like 500gb or more) then ill get a wii u

  • Ignacio Tapia

Nintendo, I want my ambassador program for Wii U !!!!!!!

  • pimpalicious

I’m waiting to hear what the HD space for WW is. If it’s 12GB or something like that I’ll just buy the normal bundle and get WW separately on disc.

    • Tiredman

Almost positive it was posted somewhere in another article i read and they said it would be like 2.7 gigs or something.

      • pimpalicious

I just looked into it, 2.6 it seems. Not bad at all then.

  • SetzerGabbiani

It begins…the games…the price drop. Now is the time for the system to come into its own.

  • kylehyde

God and I wanted to wait until the 2014, this is very tempting

  • Anime10121

Of course a price drop would hit right around the time the PS4 hits. $349 for a Wii U vs. $399 for a PS4 would not look pretty. This however is a far more enticing deal, a deluxe Wii U with a REAL game (instead of Nintendo Land) for $299 looks a whole lot better than the original deal.

    • Kevin Tan

Nintendo Land is harder than most modern games today, being more of a modern take on the arcade games of old than throwaway minigames. : Still I would say it is a good move to bundle a game with an already great reception from years past.

      • Anime10121

Oh I’m not saying the game’s not hard, but it wasnt fun to me, felt more like a Wii Play throwaway type of experience than anything else. I mean, sure it looked nice, but that was about it (my opinion). But yeah, definitely agree on the last sentence, I’m not the biggest Zelda fan either, but bundling the Wii U with Zelda is a big Win decision.

  • artemisthemp

I think the reason Nintendo is lowering the price is because PS4 is releasing in November and only cost $399.

  • Bobby Jennings

Why don’t they just give a physical copy? I’d enjoy that more. Their network infrastructure sucks.

    • British_Otaku

It costs them no resources to give you a digital copy and it is still basically the game (kinda). You can expect limited edition systems coming with digital copies to be the standard in the future from Nintendo or otherwise.

Some 3DS systems didn’t act like this in the past, but now it seems to be standard that there must be a digital version on the store.

  • What about EU ? XD

  • eilegz

still too expensive a 100$ pricecut would make more sense, but its better than nothing….

  • grayson gee

I hope the people who paid the full 350$ initially get something akin to the 3DS ambassador program. The ONLY reason I got a Wii U was because Pikmin 3 was SUPPOSED to be a launch window game. And we all saw how that turned out.

  • Nyandroid

Darn! I knew I should have waited longer!!

  • puchinri

Well, I really wanted a basic bundle, but I guess I have to get this now.

  • CirnoLakes

    Smart move.
That’s a very good way to sell consoles.

  • grevlinghore

I still haven´t seen this in effect. The lowest price I can find anywhere is 324 dollars…
