Tekken Revolution, Namco Bandai’s free-to-play fighting game, is getting an update next week that adds two more characters. Players will be able to choose Nina Williams and Feng Wei.

Namco Bandai also made some tweaks to Tekken Revolution’s mechanics like adding an option that lets players unlock other fighters without using gift points. Players will also be able to purchase "premium sessions" that allows them to fight for 60 minutes without spending any coins. Free coins can also be converted into premium coins or a premium ticket.

The update will also add new costumes to Tekken Revolution.

Tekken Revolution is a fighting game, but producer Katsuhiro Harada said he designed it to have RPG-like progression. You can get Tekken Revolution for free on the PlayStation Store.

Meh, Tekken Revolution feels like Tekken:Tag Tournament 2 demo. Get TT2 if you like Revolution, you won’t regret it.

AND MAKE SURE YOU GET THE WII U VERSION!

      : D

Cus new bonus features, like Nintendo character costumes, and Mushroom Battle mode!

Also Tekken Ball, I really like that mode!

Not really. The only similarity is it has the same characters and stages but gameplay is totally different. TT2 has tag and bound combos, no stats and no invincibles

Feng Wei has a funny name…Prolly for “Vei” meaning “Took” in me native speak…

I can unlock my favourite character without having to amass millions of gift points battling an endless stream of Law and Kazuya spammers??? GOD YES! As much as I don’t like the F2P model (never spent a dime on Revo) I do am willing to spend money of this, although the article wasn’t very clear on this new “feature”. (EDIT: after watching the jp update page, it’s as simple as enter the ps store in-game, pick the unlock char option, and unlock the char; no idea how much they’ll charge)
I own TTT2 as well, but I still find myself wanting to keep playing Revo, it has that classic 1-on-1 feel, no bounds, a more casual playerbase, I just have fun with it! XD
Oh and btw I want to unlock Xiaoyu, I keep getting Steve, Hwoarang, Bryan as random bonus chars. >_> I use Lili and Asuka (as a Jun substitute), interested in Leo as well. And the upcoming vampiiire :P

So what’s the new alternate way to unlock characters?

      • Demeanor

Like I mentioned in my previous post, you access the store in-game (the same you can buy coins from), choose the character unlock option, then I suppose you pay, choose the character and it’s immediately unlocked forever, there.
Here, second “golden section” if you know some jp, “you can use the char you like even without gift points”: http://tekken-revolution.bngames.net/update/130904.php
Of course I got those random three I never use at 1k, 7k and 30k gift points.

I liked this game it just has many things that disappoints me about fighting like a thousand matches just to unlock your fav character. And if you are able to unlock him or her cause there is a chance you get a random character. Also online it’s just awful full of spammer spamming with king the grabs and kazuya the laser bean not to mention it rips you off slowly when you are out of coins I’ll just stick to tekken tag 2 lol. One thing is for sure I love the elements and the updated design .

The update somehow solves the problem of the random chars (something I hate with a passion) if you’re willing to pay for it. Spammers get less and less common the more you advance in rank (and it’s fairly fast), I hear from tier 10+ you start seeing good players. I’m currently in a limbo between 9 and 8 :P
Also, spammers could be seen as a sort of challenge, there are many ways you can approach the fight/get your revenge on spammers, frustrating them or making them realize how useless their spamming is :P if you lose to them consistently then you need some more training imo. :P

I got this game out of curiosity and found it to follow the absolute worst kind of F2P structure, with a massively convoluted system of rules (indicated through a hideously cluttered interface) all dedicated to arbitrarily limiting your ability to play the game without paying. And it doesn’t even have offline multiplayer, which is why I bothered with it in the first place.

    I want Yoshimitsu already.

I wonder what the new method to unlocking characters is though. Winning a certain number of battles? Beat arcade mode with ____?

  • 栗場 江理久

YES. IT SEEMS MY THREATS- I MEAN PRAYERS HAVE BEEN HEARD. On a serious note, I’m really excited for this because I have around 35k gift points and i’ve unlocked characters, I don’t care about!! :D Like steve, Jin, Law, Bryan~ Good LORD I wanted to throw my controller at the TV when I unlocked someone and it wasn’t who I wanted. ALL I WANT IS ALISA AND XIAOYU. DAS IT. THAT’S ALL I ASK FOR. But nope. And playing online against Law and Kazuya is so annoying~ If I had alisa or xiaoyu that would change but nop.

      My bro!!! XD
