Deadly Premonition And Tokyo Majin Creators Making A Scary PS3 & Vita Game

By Sato . September 3, 2013 . 9:58pm

Earlier this year, we reported that Shuuhou Imai, the director of the Tokyo Majin Gakuen series was working on new titles for the PlayStation 3, Vita and more. The latest issue of Famitsu magazine reveals Demon Capital Crimson Red Secret Attack Troops: Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, a game Imai will be supervising alongside Deadly Premonition co-creator Tomio Kanazawa.

According to the magazine, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be published by Arc System Works in Japan, and developed by Toybox, who are also currently working on Hometown Story for the Nintendo 3DS.

While Tomio Kanazawa will be the producer of the game, former Nitroplus illustrator Chinatsu Kurahana will be in charge of the character designs. Additionally, Nobuo Uematsu and The Key Project will be handling the opening theme and music.

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will feature a total of 13 episodes, including both virtual novel-style and battle parts. A live-motion effect will also be used to give the characters a more realistic appearance, where you’ll be able to notice angle differences in their arms and even their fingers. The fight scenes will also be in 3D.

While it wasn’t revealed which, the world of Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be related to a past title of Shuuhou Imai.

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be coming out sometime in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Demon Capital Crimson Red Secret Attack Troops: Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters… think we can get a few more words in there?

    • landlock

      LOL, that’s a crazzy name.

    • Göran Isacson

Ha ha I was just saying that- the title almost sound like a parody, not something you’d actually call a game. Whatever happened to less is more…

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army.

Damn. I think we evened out.

    • Morricane

Original title: 魔都紅色幽撃隊 (rom.: Mato kôshoku yûgekitai)

Definitely looks less absurd and much more…space-saving :)
Misses the subtitle though, couldn’t find that one…

I really wonder what’s up lately with siliconera to make up english titles for games that don’t have them so that it becomes either impossible or a chore to google for them…~_~
It’s honestly a bit annoying, having to translate it back to Japanese and all that ‘_’

    Visual or virtual novel?

    • Odin

Virtual usually refers to being inside a world. So it makes sense to combine the two.

  • leingod

I was worried it’d be just a visual novel, but apparently it has some other elements that could make it interesting :)

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

Sounds nice, I love both of those games. Any relation to Tokyo Twilight Busters?

  • HassanJamal

    I want this.

  • XiaomuArisu

Interesting. That game could be to our liking.
    Isnt that right Zack?

  • エリン

Oooh~ This sounds exciting! I can’t wait to hear more about it~

  • Göran Isacson

This is not that game where you are a reporter looking for supernatural phenomena, and your decisions actually determine whether the phenomena are real or fake, rgiht?

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

That was Special Report Division by Nippon Ichi, I believe.

  • All I read was Tokyo Majin and was already down for it! The way it’s novel/battle reminds me a lot of Sigma Harmonics and…now I’m going to go cry and hope there’s enough interest in the West for this game…
