Sega is developing a new Hatsune Miku game for arcades and it uses new hardware. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is a music game with four buttons to tap and slide icons where you touch a panel above the triangle/square/X/circle buttons. The game has improved graphics and can show a trio of characters onscreen.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone lets players customize their module by picking accessories for ears, face, chest, and back. As an example, you can have glasses, a ribbon, and Necomimi (moving cat ears).

Wonder if this has a chance of reaching American and EU arcades now that Project DIVA F has launched outside Japan. How has that been doing, btw? Does anyone know? I just know that I and a lot of my friends got it.

It won’t release in arcades here. There isn’t even a Sega Arcade in America. The arcade scene is so dead, just wait for it’s console release and see if Sega feels like they made enough profit to do it again. Though it seem’s a Sega Rep at PAX has officially confirmed Yakuza 5 will not be coming over to the US (According to Neogaf be still my heart).

    • Arc†icNinja21

Arcades don’t exist in America anymore, silly.

      • Jesse

There’s some, like in the mall near me, though no doubt there’s not too many still around.

        • Arcana Wiz

it have years that i dont see a arcade here, and they were my childhood.

      • Fireninjastar

        I’d rather say “Endangered Species”.

    • Arcana Wiz

like many said the arcade bussiness kinda died in america, now they are more a retro accessory, so it wont make to the western shores.

    ooh this peaks my interest

    • Chow

This piques my interests as well.

    • Arcana Wiz

      agreed.

  • Neight Jirachi Simmons

Sexy. Now to wait for some kind of ps3/vita release to import. Not having arcades is suffering.

  • ギャビン

    PS4 WANT!

  • Arcana Wiz

they really look gorgeous…. maybe a ps4 port can have these visuals?

    • goldenlander

      Or Wii U?

  • Neckbear

I never did like how the Dreamy Theatre expansions looked, and I don’t really like the style of this either. It looks like the vocaloids are made of clay, and sometimes it kind of gets in the uncanny valley. I much prefer how Project Diva F looks.

    • Micrll

Agreed, this is the same style as the opening movie to Project Diva F and I don’t particularly care for it.

    • dam4rus

I agree, the more detailed the characters are, the less anime-ish they become. Sadly this is true to most JRPG (Tales games is an exception). Maybe this is why i prefer PS2/GC JRPGs, to modern ones… They should use a shader similar to Tales of Vesperia or Xillia.

  • 60hz

annnnndddd will never be seen in the west.

    • DyLaN

I never ever see a PD arcade over my country which is at SEA either.

  • Nogib

    WANT

Something else to add to my to-do list when I take my job hunting trip in January. So much arcade love in Japan, I wish there was some way to bring it back to life state side.

  • Erikdayo

I wish they’d port this to Vita. Slide bar mechanic is doable on Vita and a lot better than the current star swipe system in PDF. And to a lesser extent, it’d be doable on the PS4 controller. But the touch area on the DS4 is a bit small.
