Tales Of Symphonia Chronicles Reminds Us When Kratos Came To The Rescue

By Spencer . September 6, 2013 . 12:52am

This scene from Tales of Symphonia Chronicles shows what happened just a tad after Kratos saved the party during a fight with a brawny boss swinging a flail. Genis, Colette, and Lloyd were no match for him, but all of the sudden a mysterious stranger with way more HP than everyone else joins your party. Plus, he knows a healing spell, First Aid.

Lloyd blurts out, "Is that an Exsphere?" while everyone gawks in awe. Kratos is pretty interested in the fact that Colette is the chosen…

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles comes out on October 31 in Japan. Namco Bandai confirmed they will release the game in the West next year.

Waiting on that release date for the west.

I’m still a Zelos guy, but it’s cool that they used The End of a Thought as the song to represent Kratos in the video. Whoever put it together obviously knew what the Kratos fans wanted to see.

  • awat

ahhh i hope itll be easier to do the hi-ougis from this version of ToS q__q i never was able to do much of the hiougis and it was so difficult to get to OL -_-

    • Wappuli

Some older article had a picture of Presea using Hien Messhoujin without being at critical HP, so it seems that they are atleast a little bit easier.

      • awat

        i do hope so phew

Re-watched character videos and noticed that the requirements for Shining Bind for both Zelos and Kratos was changed too.
Zelos is using it while having around half of hes HP, he used to need to be below 15%.
Kratos is using it while wearing hes normal clothes, previously he needed Judgement-costume. He also needed to be below 15% HP and I can’t tell if he still is here.

Now I’m hoping that you don’t need to complete the game so many times anymore to get all costumes. In GC-version you needed 3 playthoughs and in PS2-version you needed 5.

          • awat

holy** .__. wow i didnt know that.. i only played ToS once on GC and PS2. -__-

    Mega Hype!

I’ve never heard Kratos’ Japanese voice before, and that was… Not what I was expecting.

I know I’m going to get hate from “purists” for saying this, but I think the English performance is outright superior.

    • Pfantzypantz

I’m sorry, but you’re complaining about “purists” and then doing the same thing they do?

      • he/she is actually doing the opposite. ‘u’

    • John Diamond

All i think about is teen titans when i hear lloyd

      • Fidelis

All I think about is lloyd when I watch Teen Titans GO

    • Zero_Destiny

Nah everyone has their preferences, it’s all right to feel one way or the other.

I personally LOVE Cam Clarke myself. He is one of my favorite voice actors, be it English or Japanese, so I definitely agree with enjoying his performance more.

    • dam4rus

Of course it’s superior, the Japanese voice actor is a “madao”. Virtual beer for everyone who get’s the reference.

  • Nitraion

    Hmm never playing this game
I thought from outside kratos is cool emo swordsman
but i feel kratos sounds like oldman… >_<

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

He isn’t emo, he’s just all badass, with authority…and he is actually 28. His English voice pulls it off better.

  • HououinKyouma

  • Masa

don’t care what language, just want the game.

  • Presea

Awesome, it’s Kratos! <3 I like both his English and Japanese voice, though I lean towards the English a little bit more. Then again, I liked English and Japanese cast for this game in general.

  • Alexander Marquis Starkey

I just realized that Tales of Symphonia has removed the outline that was rendered on to characters…it looks even weirder than I though. At least that outline made the Chibi Character models look good.

  • Scott Menville and Cam Clark best be returning for this bad boy!
