PlayStation Plus In Japan Gives Access To rain’s Tokyo Game Show Demo

By Spencer . September 13, 2013 . 4:01pm

img_gallery_19PlayStation Plus got off to a slow start in Japan. Sure, you get a library of PsOne games, but unlike PlayStation Plus in the West the service was light on recent games. Japan is starting to get unique titles like Miku Miku Hockey.

On September 19, the same day Tokyo Game Show starts, PlayStation Plus members in Japan will be able to download the TGS demo for rain. Since the first two days are for business, PlayStation Plus members actually get to play the demo before the general public can try it. The rain demo contains the first chapter of the game and will be available until September 25.

When I moved to Japan and started studying I was dying to try out the Japanese PS plus but to my big disappointment it wasn’t anything close the western counterparts. There was absolutely nothing of interests even though I normally mainly play japanese games. Nope, they really have to fix that and this is definitely one good way of doing that.

I’m actually happy with the lineup. Little Battlers 1 + 2, TIme Travelers, 999′s sequel… Was worth the money.

I’m still waiting for Level-5 to release Time Travelers in the west. It looked quite interesting.

Sounds like stuff have started to roll since I tried out the service in quite a few months ago :)

Some of the games I mentioned are already gone though. There was/is even Legend of Heroes. Also picked up Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for the PS3, not sure if I’ll ever play them, don’t even have a PS3, haha.

Yeah, they’ve started supporting Vita especially well. I signed up a couple months back and I feel like it’s already paid for itself versus importing.
