Mighty No. 9, Keiji Inafune’s recently announced spiritual successor to Mega Man, is headed to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

The game recently hit its $2.2 million stretch goal on Kickstarter, which was the requirement for a console release of the upcoming platformer.

Comcept, the game’s developer, aim to have Mighty No. 9 out in 2015.

    JUST AS PLANNED! :3

  • Byas

    Hell Yeah!

  • Jimmy

I guess people will still be playing new ps3 games in 2015? I guess that’s no doubt considering how long ps2 and GameCube lasted

    • MrRobbyM

Of course! Especially since PS4 won’t be backwards compatible with physical games. There will still be plenty of reasons to keep your PS3 in 2015.

Never gets old..especially for times like this

there will be cheering and foaming of mouth

  • OlimacFTW

2015 huh? Well, it’s gonna worth the wait.

  • MrRobbyM

With 2 weeks to go, I’m fairly sure we’ll see the PS4/Xone goal.

    • Sardorim

I really want a Beck and Call online co-op mode. >_>

      • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince

IMO, it’s a very prized or wanted stretch goal worth backing for.

        • RichyGaming

I really don’t imagine a sidescroller game like this having coop. But when I think about it, LBP, SSB, and other games pulled stuff like that off. Either way, i’ll be happy for you guys if it does happen.

  • Go2hell66

    We did it!

  • pimpalicious

This means I’ll get it for sure. I’ll probably go with PS4 version though if that goal is reached since this won’t be out for around two years.

  • Gyossait

Has anyone told Ishaan it’s “Mighty No. 9″, not “The Mighty No. 9″?

    • MrRobbyM

To be fair, it does sound a lot like The Wonderful 101.

  • Suriel Cruz

    “Excelent!” -In Mr.Burns voice- xD

  • TheGioG

*Cue Mega Man stage complete cutscene*
You got: one hell of a spiritual successor

  • Zangetsu777

This is fantastic now all we need is PSVITA, PS4, XBox One, & 3DS versions and we are golden.

    • Jeffrey Thrash

I believe that is the next stretch goal!

      • Zangetsu777

sadly no there is still a few more stretch goals in between that.

  • AkuLord3

Got 2 more weeks…let’s see how much farther we can go!

    • InfectedAI

Hopefully enough to fill a mobile stretch goal. I’d love to play this on my 3DS.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

    Great news.^_^ 2015 can’t come sooner.T_T

  • Herok♞

I want to support them and I would only play on console is there a way to get that as the copy instead of the PC version? Otherwise I will just buy it when it comes out.

    • GameTaco

From the sound of it, you’ll get a choice of which platform you want at the end of the Kickstarter.

“Specifically, we’ll make digital versions for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U platforms. (You’ll be given the option to choose any of these instead of the PC version.)”

No word on if there is a means of redemption for the alternate Beck costumes outside of the PC version, though. I imagine that could be difficult to implement. Kinda like how the beta test reward is only guaranteed for the PC version, provided it makes it onto Steam.

  • NintendoPSX

Or if you don’t wanna play it on your older consoles, switching out power wires all the time, get it on Wii U :D
(By that time the Wii U should have already picked up)

  • fawzowz

Please make it happen to 2550 mark, extra end & boss is gonna be a badass ending

  • Göran Isacson

And my investment just keeps on accumulating worth. Also a big fan of Mighty Number 3 here, really like her design.

  • http://gentlerobot.com/ Gentle Robot

This is like Spike Lee using kickstarter. Inafune could’ve got the money from a publisher.

    • Syn

as well as all the restrictions that come with working with a publisher, its better this way if you ask me.

      • http://gentlerobot.com/ Gentle Robot

I get that it’s better for Inafune, but there’s something disingenuous about getting millions via kickstarter. I like the concept that “we couldn’t make this without the fans’ support” which prevailed in kickstarter’s early days, but now we’re into games you’d see on the shelf at Target.

Everything is a presale, so the backers get no monetary ROI and assume a lot of risk, yet don’t get any guarantee of satisfaction. I get that the investment is relatively small and you’re bound to get _something_ due to kickstarter’s supervision, but someone is going to make a lot of money off this in the end. The biggest winner is the creator and Kickstarter itself. It feels like charity, pre-ordering Inafune’s game, but it’s largely a gift to a business.

And it may be different today, but Inafune and his team created the best games of their day under publisher supervision.

  • Taylor Davis

YES!!! Thank you, Mr. Inafune. I shall wait patiently :)! (I can wait,I can wait)

  • Yan Zhao

Lets hope it hits the 2.75m stretch goal by the end of the kickstarter at least!!

  • colorblindnightmare

Hehehe. I’m glad to se my contribution helped :) 120 bucks… totally worth it
