Sengoku Basara 4 Has Over 40 Characters Including Honda And Tokugawa

By Spencer . September 17, 2013 . 6:21pm

imageFamitsu magazine confirmed two more characters for Sengoku Basara 4. Honda Tadakatsu, who is a robot in Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, and Tokugawa Ieyasu who fights with his fists are confirmed for Sengoku Basara 4. Altogether, the game will have over 40 playable characters, the most in the series history.

On top of the Basara meter, Sengoku Basara 4 has a Stylish Gauge. When this is full you can slowdown all of the enemies on screen. While the enemies are in slow motion you can continue to attack them and build up your hit counter. Your hit counter effects the amount of experience points and money you earn so during slow motion you can get a lot of experience and cash.

Hopefully the stylish gauge doesn’t just break the game, but knowing them…I should have no worries ~

  • GHAmer

The almighty gundam is come back. LOL

    • Sardorim

      Yes!

Now we need Nobuyuki and Inahime – the Daughter of GUNDAM!

      • Warboss Aohd

        …..how would dat work?

        • Sardorim

What can I say? Nobuyuki is the biggest GUNDAM fan in the Sengoku Period. So much so that he marries one.

  • MrJechgo

Hmmm… over the course of the series, 53 characters have been presented, with 6 or 7 being NPCs only…
I wonder who’s on the roster this time…

EDIT: Tadakatsu Honda is back? Aw crap… I hate fighting that guy and surprisingly, whether it’s in Sengoku Basara or Samurai Warriors.

It’s not over 40 characters. It’s just a total of 40 characters. Also, not all of them are playable. We already have 3 confirmed NPCs and chances are we’re going to get more than that.

I know I sound like I’m nitpicking, but inaccurate information usually leads to people whinging about this and that, so please take some time to make sure your information is correct.

Isn’t the stylish gauge basically the same as Hero Time in Basara 3? Correct me if I’m wrong here

  • pimpalicious

I wonder if this will get an english release. I have no idea how well SB3 or the anime did.

Doesn’t count if half of them are NPCs, which they will be. Even playable characters from Utage are “magically” turned into NPCs. And as Capcom’s usual practice, they’ll flip a switch and make them playable again to sell the expansion.

    • NANAandLIZZYfanatic

      Looks like somebody didn’t read…

“Altogether, the game will have over 40 playable characters, the most in the series history.”

      • Alexander Marquis Starkey

I have a translated Japanese text source that doesn’t mention 40 “playable” characters. Siliconera occasionally doesn’t get all the details right. We already know there are NPCs, so don’t get too excited.

      • Weird Al Yankovic

I read it just fine: “CAPCOM”. The masters of withholding ready-to-go content just for the sake of selling an expansion or DLC later. I’m sure you know that Mitsuhide and Shingen are NPCs now, even though they were playable in Utage.

Anyways, not seeing this anywhere else, even from people that regularly translate every little bit of info directly from Capcom Japan or Japanese gaming news. Unfortunately it looks like Siliconera mistranslated something and got a few fans’ hopes up.

        • NANAandLIZZYfanatic

Well we can agree on the crappy practices of Capcom.

  • Jean Fernandes

I really don’t know why they don’t make one for PS4.. If this game don’t come to PSN how I will play?
