This! T.Komine-san is in the game – this is a truly awesome thing!

The new Rin & Miku song sounds really cool too – had never heard it before, but I’m glad to welcome it to the Project Diva family. :-)

Edit: for those who have never heard of this – here’s the english subtitled video for Happiness & Peace of Mind Commitee. You really have to understand it to get the full effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWIjvPuY2jo

And here’s eng subs for Spoofing Genga, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRWGV2mz2_0

You know that yowling noise that cats make in cartoons when they’re freaking out? That’s the noise I made after I watched that first video.

Isn’t it great? I mean, dude. They’re including the song where Ondine gives everyone their choice of methods of death if they can’t be sufficiently happy. AWESOME.

I’m imagining a PV with a beautiful arena, maybe with glowsticks in the audience and various execution devices on-stage, and it makes me so happy. I’m totally grinning for the rest of the day. :-)

Playlist of UtataP/t.Komine troll songs, BTW: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq2_sinvXH0H0jh7PHVgeDMnkV6jWUuhy

Can’t wait to see the difference in the PV between the slow, heart-tearing parts and the trolling announcer parts :D I sure hope they don’t take away the which-way-do-you-wanna-die from the song (they usually shorten them or we’d go mad with extreme tracks, they for instance took away the legendary “F” word from Eh Ah Sou in Diva F – while Miku flat out screamed it in the Mikupa 2012 concert! :D).
Personal note: Anthy-san, please PLEEASE go back to that OTHER thread, there’s an answer waiting for you :D

Also, I know this is unpopular given most of the other comments, but…it looks like the set list so far is half repeats, and that makes me sad. Given the shear number of vocaloid songs that haven’t been in Project Diva, I would have rather they included mostly new songs in the base game, and released most repeats as DLC (while maybe including a few of the most popular in the base game, still).

(They could do the opposite, too, and I’d be fine with that, but I think fans of repeated songs will definitely buy the DLC, but would probably be less likely to buy new songs they don’t know as DLC, IMHO.)

I loved it when they had 99% new songs in F.

      Minority opinion, I know. I am a party-pooper and a buzz-kill.

(Sorry to hijack your comment, ekibyougami.)

Edit: to clarify a little, because I don’t want to get rid of ALL repeat songs from the base game.

      • Demeanor

Mmm… you’re considering remakes of Project Diva 2nd/Extend as repeats, and in a sense they are… but they still have to port them to the new engine, and I think they’ll add some additional effects and possibly make changes to movements and backgrounds, so personally I don’t think it’s a complete rehash; my hedgehog thorns would come out a bit if they included straight ports from Project Diva F, and no one was announced yet.
I’m actually surprised at how little they’re milking the game with DLC, I haven’t seen strong DLC tendencies since Project Diva 2nd, they seem to prefer focusing on releasing new games (which is good imo as long as they keep a steady pace), giving the spotlight to one at a time (mirai -> Diva F -> Arcade -> Mirai 2 -> F 2nd…).

(Writing this before I run out the door, so probably won’t respond for a while, sorry!)

Yeah – I dunno. I’m thinking more in terms of what’s happening in the PV, and the backgrounds, etc., and in the screencaps we’ve seen, I haven’t seen too much that has changed from the old 2nd/Extend PVs. If they were redoing them completely, that’d be better, but upgrading the graphics and changing minor things…just eh.

I just keep doing the math in my head and thinking…50% of the songs so far. If they release 38-39 songs like in F, then that means…19-20 new songs. Even if they’re upgrading the quality of the PVs from the older versions of PD and making some tweaks, it just doesn’t make up for losing nearly 20 new songs and PVs. And some of the vocaloids that don’t get many songs to begin with would get maybe one new song to themselves. I wouldn’t even want songs that I love to come back for that.

Now, if they buck my expectations and release, like, 55 songs in the game, and 15 of them are the older songs, and they’re able to do that because the older songs take a bit less time/money to do because the PVs are already planned out? That’d be great and I’d be there with you all clamouring for songs I liked from the older PDs and Arcade. (And they’d totally be mostly Kagamine songs, ’cause I’m predictible like that. :-) )

I’m kind of surprised they haven’t done a lot of DLC, too (don’t they want the money? people’d buy them, I’d think), and yeah if they did a repeat of anything from F I’d be up in arms, too.

          • Demeanor

Speaking of Arcade, if porting existing PV to the engine means less work for them I too would DEFINITELY like to see more arcade songs (Meiteki Cybernetics, anyone? Friggin’ Black Gold, anyone? Shinkai Shi-tii Underrrr-gara-a-aunddddd!!! Or Saturation, have you seen that PV?), that’d be a very good tactic to save dev money and make console fans happy. Buuut I guess it’s not very likely since I imagine they need some sort of “edge” for Arcade to have people come back and keep spending money on it, edge meaning exclusive songs of course.
Also, since some of these songs are pretty old, couldn’t they redo them with current-gen library for a clearer sound? Compare vanilla megu megu fire (YT = yPBN8hbVtmE) to the power version (YT = zfa2bFZWBZI), I would KILL for a higher quality Romeo to Cinderella.

Yes Packaged! :) Really like that even though it’s pretty old.

  • As long as they don’t include Rin Chan Now and NyaNya, they can add whatever they want.

  • Packaged it baaaaack!!!!!!! Finally, finally, finally, I had been waiting for this song to make its return. Luke Luka Night Fever should be next, Japanese Ninja #1 as well…since it fits that goofy song slot that Diva games always like to have ~

    Either way…PACKAGED. YES.

  • Arcana Wiz

please a package and just be friends video remakes! i think they asked fans what songs they would like to see remade on the new game…. dunno of the results.

  • Neppygear

YES! YES! YES! YEEEEES! Happiness & Peace of Mind was exactly the song that I wanted omfg SEGA CONFIRMED FOR GODS

  • Laith Rem

“This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind committee” is probably the song I never knew I wanted to be in so bad until it was in.

  • anthy

ProjectDiva.fr has screenshots from a magazine (Famitsu, I think). The new Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee module is beautiful. http://www.projectdiva.fr/2013/09/18/quatre-nouvelles-musiques-confirmees-pour-project-diva-f-2nd/

    • Demeanor

I agree, module is awesome although I’d have liked a longer skirt :P
I see the French site also mentions new game mechanics, meaning the extension to scratch notes of the “arrows” and “worms”, so it’s “double scratch” and “held scratch”. How do you all feel about this?
I have mixed feelings, I mean new mechs are fun, but imagine a killer extreme songs that throws at you 4 buttons * 3 versions (normal, arrows and held) + stars * 3 versions (normal, double and held) all mixed together. Ouch! XD Not to mention, and this is important, this could mess up (could? more like WILL) the “trigger happy” nature of the star notes, you can’t cheese it by sweeping constantly (Extreme Freely Tomorrow comes to mind) if they mix it up with doubles and held ones.

  • Demeanor

This site… IT SPREADS HAPPINESS!!! First Astrid, and now Koufuku Anshin!
Also, my avatar will come alive!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Bacon_n_Lettuce

That was the first time I’ve been exposed to “This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee,” and I must say, now I really, really want this game.

  • So if they are including Packaged, maybe they’ll throw in some other songs from previous diva’s?
Kocchi Muite Baby would be great.
