Level-5’s next major role playing game is WonderFlick and it’s going to launch on a ton of different devices. WonderFlick launches on iOS and Android this November. Next year, it will come out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U. Here’s a glimpse of the PS4 version.

    This…actually looks kind of cool

  • Guest

Rather pleased that this went multi-platform. Better than not getting it on my preferred device.

  • Cactuar

Don’t really like F2P… Well, let’s see if this comes to the West

    • Learii

what you mean you don’t like is F2P? this a game not a MMORPG

      • InfectedAI

Wonderflick is a free to play game. It has already been confirmed.

        • Cactuar

That’s what I meant. I really love Level 5 games, so maybe I’ll give Wonder Flick a chance :-)

          • InfectedAI

I was just correcting Learii as he seemed to be under the impression that this game was not free to play.

  • John Diamond

no 360? maybe we should’ve seen that coming

  • Virevolte

    I want to slay big-headed dragons…

  • Silent

It doesn’t look like Dragon Quest at all.

  • Timovisch

    OMG! It’s level-5’s very own Xenoblade. :D

    • Cyril Murasakitsuyukusa

Level-5’s Xenoblade is actually called White Knight Chronicles.

  • Guilherme Matheus Silva

It reminds of Xenoblade and Final Fantasy XII. It’s a shame it’s not coming to 3DS.

    • yomachaser

      3DS couldn’t produce the graphics.

      • Guilherme Matheus Silva

Oh well, I hope I can play it someday!

  • Spicydicey

Not really keen on the chibi look, would’ve prefered something literally more like Xenoblade. In fact Oliver from Ni No Kuni looks very mature compared to this!

    • Thank Studio Ghibli for that.

    • abysswalker

Same here, lighting effects and textures make it look too realistic for chibis in my opinion.

      • InfectedAI

I actually like that they’re trying chibi with high fidelity assets. Normally not a fan of that style, but it’s kind of interesting here.

  • cptsnazzers

I’m getting a huuuuge Dark Cloud vibe from those character designs.

  • Zuhri69

I hope the story is well written (if any). Level 5 games had great gameplay but the story? Not so.

    • Isaac Newton

As far as I know Ni No Kuni and Dark Cloud 2(I release so much feel for Griffon/Sirus) have a great story.

      • Ivan Junior

Indeed, Ni no Kuni is amazing!

      • Guest

Jeanne d’Arc had a interesting story too!

        • Pedro Furtado

Jeanne d’Arc had some interesting twists but I did not like the overall feel of the game, I think something like FFT would fit more. It felt weird being a game that had historical roots and wanted to reach out to kids at the same time.

I actually think the Inazuma Eleven series has a better story (after the first one) than Jeanne.

          • Guest

Yeah, the overall story is quite good; angels and demons aside :P

Obviously, having in mind the target audience; in that respect Little Battlers eXperience also does a good job.

          • Pedro Furtado

Don’t really agree. LBX feels rather lackluster in story, specially in the second game. They went further in to removing character development, characters feel very generic and rarely interact in interesting ways (the only interaction we see is Ban and Hiro agreeing about something). It’s hard to create a compelling story when you don’t care about the heroes. I didn’t watch the anime, however. The plot twists are good though. The plot twists are better than the average kid show but the characters are not…

Which is a shame because I like the concept, probably won’t chase them on the 3DS though. At least not yet.

  • Alexandra Cordes

If that princess is as awful as Cisna was as a character…
I’ll play it anyway, but consarnit if she did not leave a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to new princesses from Level 5.

  • Shane Guidaboni

I wish Level-5 would localize more games.

    • InfectedAI

Agreed. I like the studio, but try to ignore them completely unless they announce a western release. Otherwise you’re getting your hopes up for something that will probably never be localized. Like Fantasy Life.

  • Pedro Furtado

I hope this dos really well, I’m rooting for them!
Level 5 has really grown in to one of my favorite companies, alongside Atlus. They are always pursuing interesting things, not necessarily super innovative, but definitely interesting while still viable. GO LEVEL 5!!!

  • Pockystix

I know we ask this a lot (a lot a lot), But I wonder if they will ever revisit the Dark Cloud series.

It had a lot of systems that I think could’ve been expanded upon, and a visual style that could really take advantage of the new hardware coming out.

That, and it’s a bloody fine series, and one that deserves to be recognized.

  • ronin4life

    Looks like Super Fantasy Life.

  • It’s kind of funny (and charming) that the designs look very straightforward cliche/troped up. Like, the witch, princess and knight are just so classically styled. It seems to work for the aesthetic and all though.

I’m real curious to see more on the game~.

  • Hikari Langley

It’s an online game if that wasn’t said before y’know. Kinda like WKC was.

  • Hikari Langley

It’s an online game, if that wasn’t talked about before, kind of like WKC was.

  • davidvinc

Wait.. So this is an online RPG? Or is this an RPG with a standalone story with some tacked on online component ala WKC?

  • artemisthemp

This looks so must better than the trailer shown for the game.

  • Corey Schulz

Cool! I’m starting to take college Japanese classes next year, and this game seems simple enough to read as a beginner, so it may help me practice!

  • Steven Higgins

This kind of gives me a LoZ feel, y’know with the green-hatted hero standing protectively in from of the pink-clad princess and all.
