Fate/Stay Night Costumes Coming To Phantasy Star Online 2

By Eugene . September 24, 2013 . 10:57am

Phantasy Star Online 2, or more appropriately Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 2 is getting a Chapter 3 update on the 25th of September in Japan. This update will include several more in the following months to bring Chapter 3 up to speed. But in the interim, the first Chapter 3 update brings the following:

  • A new Extreme Quest titled “Extreme Training: The Sea Ruins of the Ocean King”

  • 11 new weapons at the Pyroxene/Demon Stones shop to trade for.

  • A new team bulletin board to post announcements and news

  • Alongside a new “Desert Base” team base extension

  • Finally, new scratch cards for the Autumn Sports Festival that can net you autumn sports wear gear

Following the September update, October’s update will see something players have hoped for for awhile now—skill level caps raised, alongside other changes listed below:

  • Character class skill levels will be upped to 65

  • New quest difficulty “Super Hard” for the Floating Continent’s Forest area

  • Several new 10 Star Weapon Drops

  • New rare enemy Tagamikazuchi

  • New “Urgent” quests – “To break the brave leader’s boundary”

  • Even more new additions such as Franca changes and time bomb releases.

Also in October, there will be a collaboration with Puella Magi Madoka Magica (not the upcoming Vita game) which adds Madoka and Akemi’s costumes to the game, as well as a Kyuubey mascot.

Come November, Fate/Stay Night and the impossibly cute Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya (Featuring Ilya as a magical girl) will cross over to the game, too, with Saber, Archer, Gilgamesh, Tohsaka Rin and Ilya’s magical girl costumes and weapons.

    • RichyGaming

Meanwhile, Richy comes back from school to get on siliconera and types Meanwhile.

    • Vesperion

      Maybe next time sir

    • Hoping for PSO2 overseas is like asking out the hottest girl at school out, and her reply is “I’ll think about it.”

…Then you wait for what seems like an eternity for an answer that may never come.

  • “New quest difficulty “Super Hard” for the Floating Continent’s Forest area”

It should be for “areas from Forest to Floating Continents”

  • Arcana Wiz

Oh a PSO2 online article i wont cli- Fate costumes!? *clicks on it!*
5 minutes later…… goes to a corner and mumble *one day… one day… one day*

  • Michael Martin

Her name is Homura, not Akemi.

    • Sentsuizan_93

Same thing. Except Homura is her surname.

      • Michael Martin

Homura is her given name. No one calls her Akemi.

        • AkuLord3

Noone likes that type of person who is VERY annoyingly picky about things like this…Chill

        • M’iau M’iaut

This really isn’t a hill to fight and die on. If you know the series, you know who is being spoken of.

          • Michael Martin

Just reported an error that I thought should be corrected. Not trying to start an argument.

    • Blick Winkel

A few characters call her Akemi, like Marie.
      Oh wait, I meant Mami.

  • Gyro Zeppeli

    Did someone say Homuhomu costume?

  • TheExile285

Westerns: Huh, what ever happened to that game called Phantasy Star? Oh yeah SEGA US happened….

    • Prinnydoom

      Abandon all hope.

        • RichyGaming

He forgot to say dood, dood.

    • Surgeon of Death

And now Sega owns Atlus. This WORRIES me :(

      • Croix Zapp

given the success of persona franchise, they will definitely be released in the west. i hope.

  • Hey Sega

  • michel

What must we do to have this game in English?…
Fall to our knees and beg in tears?… :)

    • TheExile285

Sell our souls to Sega obviously…..

  • Charlie Black

Yeah I’m so moving to japan. They get all the good content while we have to wait at least a YEAR for old content, and by that time they’ll have newer games. We’ll always be behind they just don’t give a kupo about us!

  • Surgeon of Death

    GArcher for the win :)

  • Zach Johnson

I can’t decide if I should try to get Rin’s Costume from Fate or one of the Madoka costumes, they would all look so cool on my character D:

  • ChiffonCake

    This makes me sad.

  • Freakmasta

In other news…PSO2 is dead in America.

  • Illyaaaa!!!! >_<

  • HerosLight

Good thing I’m playing the Japanese version..

But I really do wish it comes to the West.

  • Niermyico

    OOOMG!!! I can’t wait!!

  • what do you think the chances are for the SEA version to get this. Asiasoft doesnt really have a great record with IP Blocks, so i think i could play that one.

  • A source citing a direct, recent encounter with a Sega employee in Japan has told TSSZ something you probably could have guessed by now: There is next to no chance Phantasy Star Online 2 is in the cards for the West.

Adding insult to injury, the source, who requested anonymity, explained the game is indeed “fully localized” in English and all is set for, in our source’s words, an “immediate western release.” But that localization may instead be used for a smooth rollout of PSO2 across Asia, and in particular English speaking Asian regions. We told you about that 2014 rollout last month.

The source concedes no exact reason is known for the decision, and can only speculate it has to do with concerns PSO2 will not be profitable in the West, given Sega’s current strategy. The source also did not outright state to us that PSO2 is canceled for the West–only that the above explanations are clearly a factor.

That certainly would explain the sudden silence by Sega west employees on the matter ever since PSO2 was shown at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle last year. The MMO has not been seen or heard from in North America or Europe since that demo, and constant attempts to reach out to Sega for comment have been met with a few sentences, if that.

While we don’t want to one hundred percent take this as confirmation of PSO2′s cancellation in the west, this is yet another piece of information on top a large laundry list of details that certainly do not paint a pretty picture for the fate of the MMO here. We will continue to track developments and we are filing this under Rumor–though given everything else we know, this information appears solid. If you have inside information on this or other matters and you’d like to share it or help guide us in the right direction, we urge you to send a news tip

Well Crap. If this is true, All the rage in the world wont stop me.

  • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

Complain all you want about it not being in the US, but you can play the game for free and legally. There is an English patch that is easy to patch in, takes 1 minute, and plenty of servers that cater to English speakers. Ship:2 Lobby:20 is the most popular. No reason to complain unless you care about story, but PS is notoriously known for terrible to mediocre story lines. We all know it’s about the gameplay, items and costumes.
On a not about the OP, badass, I was hoping it would get some Fate gear since PSP2 did.

  • MikelAL93

This is why I play PSO2. Caster outfit please. :3

  • sibladeko
