Kadokawa Games formed a new studio to develop games in-house and their first title is a PS4/PS3/Vita strategy RPG called Natural Doctrine. Patapon director Atsushi Ii is leading the Natural Doctrine team as the game director. Fate/Zero character designer Atsushi Ikariya and ufotable are on character design. Noriyuki Asakura, best known for his work on the Rurouni Kenshin score, is the game’s composer.
Natural Doctrine’s protagonist is Ef and the story is told from his perspective. One of the core concepts is to have a large number of characters, friends and foes, on the battlefield at the same time. The game still uses a turn based battle system.
On top of the story mode, Natural Doctrine also has a multiplayer mode for versus and co-op play. Natural Doctrine is a PlayStation 4 launch title in Japan.
