The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Flash Patch Coming On October 3

By Spencer . September 27, 2013 . 2:42am

The latest game in the Legend of Heroes series shipped with bugs. Falcom said they will release a patch for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash on October 3. The first patch will reduce loading times.

We’re not sure when or if we’ll ever get this game, but The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC will be released in North America in 2014.

Im playing the Vita version and the loading time is amazing. Around 20 sec per scene.
    This patch is a must.

    • Dark Zerato

And the waiting time for it to be released in NA is 1000 times amazing (if ever they localize it).

Is it only a loading times problem or there are other kind of bugs?…

      • Duc PC-QB

I havent played much but until now the loading time is the only problem I’ve encountered.
        Everything else is fantastic.

    • Altin

Damn, that sounds almost Sonic 06′-bad. Hope they will fix that issue then!

    • Lynx

      Eh. That’s not that bad.

      SRW Alpha for Dreamcast.

      That was pretty bad.

Super Robot Taisen MX Portable, I win.

came here expecting this comment :)

Great, it would be bad if Falcom lost money cause of these issues.

  • Last Star

I find it surprising Falcom would release such a poorly optimized game just to meet the street date, this is not like them at all. Do they seriously think buyers will tolerate anything as long as the game’s out on time? Now that Amazon Japan is filled with negative reviews, I wonder how many copies they can actually sell.

    • DesmaX

It’s not only about buyers, you know.

      • Last Star

Nothing is more important than customers who’ll gladly hand over their hard earned money for Sen. A majority of Falcom’s revenue for the current and next quarter is going to come from Sen. Buyers may not be the only factor, but if Falcom want a profitable year (especially after devoting most of their resources into developing Sen), it definitely isn’t a smart idea to drop the ball on day 1 and piss off a large number of loyal ED fans who purchased the game on release date.

        • DesmaX

But delaying the game would be even more harmful for their profits, especially so close to the release date.

Who knows, maybe this patch was in the works when the game reached gold status.

          • M’iau M’iaut

Not an excuse for Sen, but this is exactly why so many games have first day patches. From the day something ‘goes gold’ to release day, it can easily be a month or more. Lots of time for bugs to come out or or for the devs to want to go back and tighten things up a little more.

          • DesmaX

Exactly. I can see that, whatever causing Sen loading times, is quite the problem if the patch wasn’t released on day 1

          • Duc PC-QB

Thats what I though too, the reidiculous loading time will ruin the experience of any game….
            Stay strong Falcom !

I’m certainly excited for this patch. I’m a patient person when it comes to loading screens and stuff, but I find myself annoyed at them in this game.

I’ve also had had a couple times where the game will act frozen for a few seconds after opening a treasure chest and when transitioning from the field to the battle screen.

Don’t get me wrong though, I feel that the above loading issues aside, the game is amazing so far and I’m very glad I got it. Granted, I’m not terribly far in it.
