More Tidbits About Drakengard 3’s Air Battles

By Spencer . October 1, 2013 . 11:12pm

imageMost of the Drakengard 3 footage we’ve seen has been Zero fighting on the ground, sometimes mounted to a fire breathing dragon. The dragon can fly too and Famitsu magazine says the game has high speed air battles where you can weave between buildings.

If you get ambushed by a horde of enemies, while you dodge attacks you can lock on to targets and counter attack.

Drakengard 3 is slated for release on December 19 for PlayStation 3.

  • Does that mean were essentially Kaiju attacking New York? This calls for the Jeagers.

Caim & Angelus >>>>>> Eren & all titan in the series

I’m pretty sure he’s talking about another Jaegers. The mecha ones.

        Wrong Jeagers.

That would be kind of cool. Ultimate Despair Drakengard versus Hopeful Teamwork Defenders of Humanity Pacific Rim. two works on fiction on completely opposite scales of ideology clashing, could make for quite a show.

I hope the coordination has gotten better!

  • I really want to see gameplay! Air batles were always my favourite

By the way, SE America registered a “drakengardgame” domain!!!

      including chapter 13? lol

Hope we’ll hear something soon. The game deserves more love.

I never found much of a use for the Dragons in Drakengard and Drakengard 2. In 2, at least, you were given ample aerial-only battles to use Legna, so it made little sense to use him during the on-foot mission that he was available in when you could better use that EXP to level up your other characters and weapons.

    • Rayhan PromisedGallery

Aerial-only battle/boss battle has always been there from the first game. Plus, sometimes it’s fun when you got bored spamming square button as human, you can go and burn them all from the sky .

Though leveling 5 characters in DOD2 was a pain in the ass

  • Göran Isacson

Not sure how much use these aerial weaving sequences will be. It SOUNDS cool and fast and interesting, but it remains to be seen whether it WILL be. Drakengard and controls have… not always been a happy marriage.
