You got my hopes up for a second, then I saw ‘smartphones’.

  • Pockystix

well. . . at least smartphones is in the titles now. . .

  • KiTA

Not a huge surprise – There was already a DQM port (remake of DQM1) for mobiles in Japan; it had a “Kid Zoma” mascot. “Super Light” suggests something akin to FF All the Bravest or DQ Wars — so this is probably something we can effectively ignore.

    It’s a social game for sure…

Finally, a new Dragon Quest Mons— *sees that it’s for smartphones* Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

    *cries rivers of tears*

Why do i feel sad every time i see SE and smartphone in a same sentence ?

As of late, when I see SE in any article title, I already assume it’s likely to be related to phone games.

Square Enix, going from console dev/publisher to mobile dev/publisher…. if werent for lack of continuity after a long time on mobile platforms as well as lack of physical releases associated with the platform meaning after a few years when the platform of the mobile itself gets obsolete the game is lost, i would be psyched about this…but alas…..

I only clicked this article to see people overreacting in the comments. You guys have left me feeling slightly disappointed. I guess it’s gotten to the point where people have just stopped caring about everything that Square does.

  • KiTA

Ah. A bit more info: This is by the Rage of Bahamut guys. So it’s a Dragon Quest Monsters card game with one button gameplay. It’ll be interesting to play for the art (Rage of Bahamut is effectively pornography in some spots) but ultimately probably somewhat forgettable. Still, if they bring it over to the US I’d play it on the bus or something.

Sweet, another DQ game we won’t get!

Square, the company that ruined Enix.
