Meet The Akihabara Idol That Helps You Fight Bloodsuckers In Akiba’s Trip 2

By Spencer . October 8, 2013 . 11:31pm

Wouldn’t hanging out with an idol be cool? How about fighting bloodsucking monsters with one? Akiba’s Trip 2 gives players a chance to partner with Rin, an idol from Akihabara that exploded in popularity. She also lent her image to promote a major pharmaceutical company that’s tied to the game’s story. She’s been investigating the bloodsuckers and gets in contact with the protagonist. Also, Rin has an awesome keyboard weapon.

Zenya Amou is one of the main antagonists who is trying to capture the hero. Zenya is a condescending character who says the otaku should get out of this town and is responsible for turning people into the vampire-like creatures. Players can defeat them by stripping off their clothes and exposing these transformed people to sunlight. Akiba’s Trip 2 has a new Group Strip technique where you can rapidly snap off the clothes from a number of characters back to back. When you get fired up after all pulling off a group strip  a green light glows around you.

    Dat face…

This game is never gonna get localised, it it?
1 more reason to learn japanese..

    • Audie Bakerson

Well having 2 new translation studios (IF and Sony 3PS) helps, as does being on a system with existent sales figures in the west, but yeah, still pretty low.

Learn Japanese, there’s a bunch of games with even less chance of getting translated.

      • GDI

By the time I master Japanese, all the JP games will be region-locked mobile F2P games on GREE.

I keep hitting my high school self for taking up German instead.

Is AKBSTRIP a game that can be winged just by running around and stuff?

      • Dark Zerato

Stripping people is what makes this game has less chance to be localized.

        • DyLaN

Then again, you have SK being localized. I dunno.

          • Dark Zerato

If Shinovi Versus is localized, maybe this game will. The U.S. doesn’t think violate game characters is good for people.

    • Chris Yuen

Well, I suppose I can buy the Chinese version that they confirmed in the Sony TGS Asia conference…

    • DyLaN

If SK can get localized, (almost) anything can happen!

    • DenjinJ

Good idea, but it’ll be a long road for this game, I suspect. The first one had walls of text and multiple-choice questions and really was not import friendly.

  • Kai2591

aww yeaahh tsundere twintail idol! <3

…Is that a red light saber?

Man, I would play this on the PS3 if it ever gets localized. (with Japanese voices intact).

  • Audie Bakerson

I know you’re never going to see it past the first minute, but the MC’s belt is still WAY too “fabulous” for his otherwise (purposefully) generic design.

  • Gojira Twit

She… looks like she’s about to puke

  • Dark Zerato

Zenya is a condescending character who says the otaku should get out of this town.

An Akiba without otaku isn’t Akiba anymore. What’s the deal man ?

    • Audie Bakerson

There’s actually fears going around of it being “sanitized” during the Olympics (which it may or may not be able to revert back from depending on how they go about it), so he’s surprisingly topical a villain.

      • Shippoyasha

Oh great. The one open oasis for otaku being attacked. I hope they don’t give an inch to the granny state.

  • Raze

Her design kinda remind me of Matsushima Michiru…

  • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Looks good but i had rather get more information on my imouto.

  • Servant BerserCAR

Freaking keyboard weapon, man! And she swings it like Dante. My dream is complete. :3
