Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth Video Shows Friends Like Falcom And Tekken

By Spencer . October 18, 2013 . 4:55pm

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 has Neptune’s friends like Falcom and Tekken from Hyperdimension Neptunia V instead of Red ad 5pb (who I guess is like Mages now).

The trailer also shows new event CG made for the Vita remake and extra enemies like Yonneko, Hakoinu, and Boxer X.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 comes out on October 31 for PlayStation Vita.

Really want this! Hope this comes outside Japan.

  • TheExile285

Come on NISA, stop making us wait for a localization announcement >_>

    • AkiraScare

      We also want PP (^_^)

      • Xerain

We want PP more. Err… Well I do, at least.

        • Joshua Lewis

its fine :3 i want poo poo to….”sorry i had to”

    • Dago

I assumed that it somebody localized this i´d be Idea Factory´s own NA branch or is it not active yet?

      • Aristides

I don’t think they really localize, I think they just promote their products and provide resources and support to localization companies with out them having to take a trip to japan.

    • Tyler Beale

Don’t make Chie (or Black Heart) kick your ass, NISA!!!

Nah, I kid, but seriously – where’s the next round of localizations? (At least this one, Disgaea 4 Return, and/or Criminal Girls Invitation…)

  • Roberto

Hype but sad at same time because no nisa or gust

  • Leon_Tekashi

Apparently, this remake is its own dimension since CC2 and Tekken knows that the Neptune they’re talking to is a Neptune of the dimension they’re currently in, which means CC2 and the others went to that dimension for some reason.

    • Pdugna

So time travel? *don’t know this game’s story much*

      • Tyler Beale

Nah, it’s probably because they were all DLC characters for Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, which took place in a different Gamindustri than 1/2.

    • MPHavoc

No kidding? So there’s an infinitesimal chance that Hyperdimension!Nep and Rebirth!Nep might actually meet?

Oh god in heaven, the brain hemorrhages that will cause…

  • xAtKx

    Waiting for localization announcement.

  • cyberkinghardy

I just need to know if this game will ever get out of Japan.

  • AxionAzure

Without Red, NISA, Gust and 5pb… It already feels like a totally different game there.

    • Tyler Beale

Fuck NISA and Gust (the characters, not the companies), I didn’t like them too much. I mean, they’re okay…

I do welcome the Victory DLC characters, even though that means Cave and 5pb will go away….

And I’ve no idea who the hell Red is. If she was only in the 1st game, that explains why – I didn’t play it.

      • AxionAzure

Although it hurts to read this, not everyone played the first Hyperdimension Neptunia, so NISA and Gust won’t be missed too much, and Red won’t be missed at all by those people. That’s a sad truth…

      • brwcrw

No, fuck YOU buddy. I will definitely be missing Red, Gust and especially Nisa if this is brought over. And Cave isn’t really “going away” since she was never in the first game to begin with.

        • Tyler Beale

Haha, yeah, guess she was only in mk2 then. Either way, I kinda miss her, even though TBH I didn’t really care too much about those characters being missing from Victory.

Err….Okay, I do care about 5pb. not being in there, since she mostly resides in Leanbox. At least she was in the anime for a bit.

      • ivanchu77

Nope, no maker from Victory had even half of the charisma NISA had, the fact that she and gust aren´t in this game is very, very dissapointing

    • DenjinJ

I imagine it’s like a Super Robot Wars game – hell for licensing, trying to secure all the characters.

I haven’t played any of these yet, and I’d like to be able to see all the original characters too, but… I’m looking forward to seeing Broccoli (should be pretty bizarre, knowing Di Gi Charat,) Tekken and Cyberconnect2 now as well. I’m sure it’ll be good.

  • Raharu95

I can’t believe I am saying this.. but I would have preferred a simple port of the original game. I want the original makers back >_<

    • Malon

What’s so bad with this remake ?

      • Raharu95

That it goes above and beyond what a remake Should be. Half of the Original Cast are gone. Not even 5pb; the only one of the original makers (Sans IF and Compa) that actually still has a chance to be in this game has been announced. I miss Nisa, Gust, and Red… Red for the most part -_- I’d wish they just straight out say why the Original Cast is gone.

This also makes me Worry for the supposed Upcoming Remake of Mk 2 >_<

        • Malon

Any idea why they have been removed ? Are they OFFICIALLY said to be removed anyway ?

I didn’t play the first Hyperdimension, so I don’t know how BAD having these characters removed is, but I still think it looks great.

          • Raharu95

Frankly, in the original game the other makers added nothing to the story. They just had their own little story arcs. Even if you recruit them in every other part of the story makes it as they where just tagging along silently, or not there at all. The DLC characters only ever interacted with IF, as if breaking the fourth wall that Idea Factory is inviting them to the game.

As to why. Well Gust was acquired by Tecno Koei, 5pb seems to have been replaced by her mother Mages, Red was bough by a Chinese Company, and Nisa seems to have moved over to the Nippo Ichi verse. Still, if the original plan was to make a simple port of the game, it means that having the original makers should still be possible for them somehow, but instead they are being replaced by the makers of V >_~

This is why I worry for the upcoming Mk2 Rebirth. Because the other Makers actually contributed to the story and interacted with everyone.

In short, we don’t know if the original makers are goners, but it sure seems that way as of now. and it just sad to see the original cast completely gone. I would have been better if they had added to their stories and involvement instead of out right, replacing them

          • Nerroth

I was under the impression that MAGES. is 5pb.’s cousin, not her mother.

But in any case, 5pb. isn’t out of the broader franchise entirely; she was in the recently-aired anime adaptation, and she’ll be in with MAGES. and others in the upcoming drama CD I mentioned in this thread.

Whether or not she will retain a place in the game side of the IP is another matter, though.

          • Raharu95

Exactly. I’m aware 5pb is not out of the count completely. I’ve yet to see the anime, but i was aware she was still in it. So her being still.in.this game with her story arc intact and perhaps a tad more involvement is not a fleeting dream.

Also, I not sure of 5pb’s and mages actual relationship, if it has been revealed at all XP I just called Mages’s 5pb mother because Mages is 5pb mother company~

    • refrain

Not gonna happen. Red is sold to China and Nippon Ichi is, well, many rumors said that Nippon Ichi want that mascot for their own so she won’t appear again

    • Bobby Jennings

  • Nerroth

At least 5pb. is in a new drama CD with MAGES., due out at the end of this month:

The 5pb. Records listing includes a pair of audio samples:

  • Kornelious

Localize this…….NOW! I’m looking at you NISA >:(

  • refrain

    The funny thing is.
    >Xbos Dog
    >Dog goes wan wan (in Japanese)
    >Xbox Wan
    I lol’ed

  • KonniSekai

This time they got the “Neptune” right.

  • cyberkinghardy

BTW when Mk.2 and V got localized, did they have english voice or japanese? or can they be switched anytime?

    • Sentsuizan_93

      Dual audio. Switch anytime.

      • cyberkinghardy

Thanks. I’m having second thoughts o whether to buy Jap or wait for the English release

  • Another reason to own a Vita if this comes here.

  • artemisthemp

    Old Macintose enemies :)
This game is a sure to be localized title, else NISA really have issues

  • Demeanor

Wow the dlc chicks are definitely harem material! XD Can’t wait to see Tekken-chan’s moveset. Lol @marvelous Hiden Ninpo XD and rofl @nerd enemy type XD
Now, here’s an idea: wouldn’t a DoA-chan be an awesome addition to the list?

    • Doctor Nebula

      The amount of oppai

  • leingod

Isn’t that Puchiko from Digi Charat?

    • M’iau M’iaut

She was simply called Broccoli in Victory and it fits with giving the girls the names of parent companies or game IPs. She is the one most obviously based off an existent character, if it isn’t Puchiko :P.

      • leingod

I could swear I heard Puchiko in that trailer, but then again… I don’t really know japanese :P

        • M’iau M’iaut

I am also sure that is Sawashiro, but they may not be able to refer to her as Puchiko with mai waifu appearing in so many other video games. (i.e. those rights might be a mess)

        • zazza345

Yes she does, even in V they made a similar joke. She says she’s not Puchiko but Broccoli. And it is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, as it has been known since the character was introduced in V.

  • Localization please!!!
