Dragon Quest X Expansion Introduces Entirely New Monsters To The Series

By Eugene . October 22, 2013 . 1:01pm

By “new,” we mean entirely new to the universe. No Metal slimes here! Instead, we’ve got three monsters who will be making life difficult for you when you land in the lost continent of Rendashia in Square-Enix’s online RPG Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally.

First up above is the Giant in the Clouds, a new airborne djinni who hides within his cloud while throwing down attacks.

Second is the Elder Dragon, a weather-worn dragon so old he’s grown a carpet of grass and an entire tree on his back, forcing his weight down.

And finally is the cute, bushy but still deadly Red Squirrel, clearly a nod to the most deadly creature of all time.

Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally will be out December 5th for the PC, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360. Still no word if we’d be able to play this on the go with the iOS version.

    Xbox 360? For a Japan-exclusive?

I don’t believe that cloud djinn enemy is new, I remember them from at least one of the DS remakes.

That squirrel looks like a jerk.

These monsters are pretty cool, that dragon is awesome! I don’t know if it’s just me but I’d like to see a Dragon Quest/Pokemon crossover game were you could catch all Dragon Quest monsters!

That would be so cool. It’d be called Dragon Quest Monsters, and instead of gym leaders and one big area, you’d get keys to randomly generated places while testing your team at a big, multi-tiered tournament.

    WHAT!? XBOX 360!?

  • Harley Gorillason

    This is coming to 360?
