What Is Square Enix’s Lost Crusade?

By Spencer . October 22, 2013 . 2:52am

imageSquare Enix might have a new video game called Lost Crusade in development. The publisher behind Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest filed a trademark for Lost Crusade which can be used for video games in Japan.

A spinoff with these guys?

Or a new game from Square Enix?

  • Please understand.

    Probably for iOS.

  • Go2hell66

a new mobile or browser game

    • GH56734

Or something where most of the game is hidden behind micro-transactions.

      • Go2hell66

in other words, just something made to piss us off

        • GH56734

Or a thinly-disguised machine to suck money from the unsuspecting (?) user with little to none substance or content or purpose.

    • FlyingPony

So sad because that is most likely to be true..

  • My guess is that it’s an iOS trading card game.

  • Romored

Judging by the name, it will most likely be a mobile game.

  • Wait what

Wow, not a single comment so far that isn’t complaining about mobile games. Come on, people, at least wait until it’s announced before you start bitching at it.

    • Godmars

Not complaining about it being an iOS game, saying its one. Not really much of a guess when they’ve said that their development focus was iOS during several stock meetings.

      • Wait what

Okay, fine. Half of the comments are complaining it might be an iOs game. The other half are just MENTIONING it might be. It just bugs me because all the iOs hate to me just sounds like console fanboy wars only everyone is on the same side. I don’t even have a device capable of running iOs games, let alone am I interested in them, but I’m getting more tired of people bringing them up all the time than I am of seeing them being made.

Instead of me just complaining about complaints, though, I’ll do something completely different:
“Cool, I like Square Enix games, hope it’s good, regardless of what system it comes to.”

  • I’d say:

    a) An iOs game
    b) iOs game
    c) iOs game

    Take your pick.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

oh oh OH! I pick D)all of the above

  • epy

Sounds like a brand new IP for next gen consoles directed by Hiroyuki Ito… just kidding, it’s obviously another mobile game.

  • Minos

    Their Lost Crusade?

Trying to make people like Lightning?

    • Wait what

They won that crusade at the beginning, though. Or have you missed all the fanart, cosplay, videos, tweets, etc.

      • Minos

        Most probably I did.

I don’t look for cosplay or read tweets.

  • César H. Sandoval

More social/IOS pay to win crap.

  • brian

    It’s a crusade that’s lost, obviously.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    something to do with Lightning

  • Arcana Wiz

please let it be a high budget game please let it be a high budget game please let it be a high budget game please let it be a high budget game……

Dont even care if is for Ios/android, they can make good games for them too (and maybe later port them to vita), but i dont want another FF All the bravest.

Actually wondering if there is even a reason to get hyped by Squeenix games nowadays. They are a joke, a shadow of their former selves at this point with the extreme exploitation of beloved franchises and their over abundant acceptance of pay to win dlc, even in full prices titles. I can’t see them as innovators as I did when I grew up with their pre merger games. They are nothing more than a greedy corporation who want to take all my good memories and make them disappear with a landslide of disappointment.

So yeah, I have no hype for Squeenix anymore.

  • Warboss Aohd

wouldn’t it be hilarious if it isn’t an iOS game?

  • Lester Paredes

All I know is that I am bracing myself for disappointment.
