By Spencer . October 22, 2013 . 12:13am

toukidenTecmo Koei entered the co-op hunting genre with Toukiden: The Age of Demons which was released for PlayStation Vita and PSP. The game did quite well with over 470,000 units shipped.

Toukiden’s strong performance prompted Tecmo Koei to adjust their earnings forecast up. Toukiden: The Age of Demons will be released in North America and Europe in early 2014.

That’s really really good can’t wait for it to come over. Does anyone know what sale figures soul sacrifice got.

  • TheExile285

Damn, last I saw they were at 300k so that is another 170k.

Now they just need to give us an official release date for the localized versions.

A sequel is pretty much guaranteed, I’d guess.

EDIT: And that is units shipped? So its most likely 500k+ with DD.

    • wat_wat

Yup. It’s doing extremely well for them.

    • Ric Vazquez

      Extremely hyped for this game!

  • Ya I can’t wait for this but it’s starting to look like PSO2 localized versions on news.

    • TheExile285

Nah, that is just Temco being Temco. They did the same with Atelier Meruru Plus.

Does PSO2 even have an English trailer? Temco showed one for Toukiden at E3:

  • Ryujin

Glad to see this game doing well. The demo was pretty enjoyable and I’m really looking forward to playing the full version. I just hope it does well in the west, too. As well as this type of game can do, anyway.

  • wat_wat

Damn good numbers for a new IP. Can’t wait for the localization. Early 2014, no more delays. You can do it, TK!

  • leingod

Good reason to bring it over, right?

    • MisterHoot

They are bringing it over early next year if i reckon

      • leingod

I’ll be happy to get it early next year then.

  • ekibyougami

I’m glad to be a part of that number. And I’ll gladly be a part of the number for the sales in the English version as well.

  • Slayven19

So this means people are ordering more copies because at one time I saw only like 180k shipped and now its 470k? I’m glad its doing well and hopefully the U.S version can do well enough for the system its released on.

  • icecoffemix

    Nice… Need more Vita blockbuster!

  • artemisthemp

Toukiden is a Soul Sacrifice-type game?

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

It’s close to monster hunter (which Soul Sacrifice also spawns from, if you want to get really technical, Phantasy Star was the first of this kind of game) but the main mechanic is the ability to use spirits of Japanese historical figures to increase your strength, along side pushing story and more combo based gameplay. I’ve never played any of them though so do your own research.

      • artemisthemp

Touiken coming to PS Vita, so may pick that up, while I wait for Soul Sacrifice Delta to release

  • Yan Zhao

Would be nice if they finally evolve Dynasty Warriors too. Love the game to death but the AI is braindead to nonexistent. Would be nice if they fought back. Games like Toukiden and One Piece Musou proves that Omega Force is perfectly able to create things like this.

  • Lester Paredes

Can’t wait for this to make it across that pond.

  • miyamoto

I knew this game is something special.

My PS Vita will be ready!

  • ekibyougami

I’ve read in their wikia site that:

    > “According to Koei-Tecmo’s financial report, the game has sold at least 4.5 million copies in Japan and Asia alone.”

I’m not sure about this, considering my limited knowledge on reading moon runes. It could perhaps be a misreading on the wikia team. Not saying 4.5m is impossible but… WOW O_O It’s just too good to be true for a new IP to reach that numbers just for Asia and Japan (both PSP and Vita versions) alone.
