Drakengard 3’s Four Deadly Weapons

Drakengard 3 has multiple weapons for Zero to use and you can switch weapons while you are in battle. The weapon story system returns in Drakengard 3 and each weapon can grow to level four if you can collect materials for it.


The sword a balanced weapon with effect forward slashes and horizontal range. The Sword can also launch enemies and it’s easy to connect attacks into combos which makes blood splash, the key to activating Zero’s Intoner powers.

Zero’s spear has more range than the sword and it deals stronger blows. The downside is the spear’s attack speed is slower.

Fists have limited attack range, but make it easy to chain attacks into combos. It’s a weapon designed for close range, one on one fights.

The chakram is the opposite of the fists. It’s attack power is low, but it can hit an entire group of enemy when Zero is surrounded. Looks like this is a good crowd control weapon.

    This is what I’m talking about, and why the original Drakengard system was just fine as it was. More weapon classes and you don’t have to collect a thing to upgrade them. Secret of Mana style, sans orbs (which were hardly a problem to collect).

      Sorry, but the original Drakengard system was fine? That “fine” system just encouraged people to just run through the first few levels, over, and over, and over. It makes the most grindiest of MMOs and JRPGs look tiny in terms of grind.

        Leveling up a weapon in Drakengard doesn’t take nearly as long as you seem to think it does.

        And I would much rather defeat enemies who are always guaranteed to be there instead of defeat enemies who may or may not (mostly the latter) drop materials to upgrade weapons. Which really *does* encourage fighting in the same place over and over.

        Drakengard? You can pick any map you want: a KO is a KO.

      Collecting material won’t be fun if most of them are as hard as
      Nier’s Eagle Egg or Giant Egg

        Unless you bought the DLC for Nier which had one stage that drops the Eagle/Giant Egg for increased rate.
