Pokémon X And Y Super Music Collection Has 3 Hours Of Music

By Eugene . November 8, 2013 . 12:36pm

The Pokémon series is known for its iconic music, and while the tunes in Pokémon X/Y haven’t reached that iconic status yet, maybe they will soon. The Pokémon Company is releasing a Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Super Music Collection Soundtrack set. There’s over 3 and a half hours of mostly battle music stuffed into the CD.

Also included is a whopping 28-page full-color booklet that has music commentary and developer materials, including liner notes from the Game Freak sound team. There will also be bonus tracks from the Pokémon: The Origin, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue series as well.

All of this for just 2, 625 yen ($27) when it releases November 13th.

Snazzy~. Adding it to my wants list.

  • Kefkiroth

Would get for dat Jubilife City remix.

    • RinaDawg

When I heard the first 3 notes I thought it was some sort of Animal Crossing, but then after that pause I cried many nostalgia tears.

  • urbanscholar

    I. need. this. in. my. life.

  • Jettythesunfish

    Rival theme. Enough said.

  • Jibun Rest@rt

Overall, I found the music to be lacking in this game. There were still a lot of tracks I enjoyed, just a lot less than in previous generations.

    • 하세요

The only song I was truly disappointed in was the Gym Leader theme. Worst in the series hands down.

      • AuraGuyChris

Oh right. That sounds like an extended intro for a rock concert that’ll never play the action-y part.
Oh well. *Goes back to B2W2 Gym Leader remix*

        • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Nah man, the best Gym leader themes are the Hoenn and Sinnoh ones remixed. Kanto too.

      • Jibun Rest@rt

My least favorite was probably the trainer battle theme, but I agree. The Gym Leader theme was not as impressive. It’s a shame, because I’ve come to expect really good things from the battle music and they just didn’t deliver like they used to.

      • Sentsuizan_93

Agreed. I found the Gym battle theme a bit lacking compared to previous generations.

    • CartmanKusanagi

I haven’t played X&Y yet, but I certainly don’t think it will top the music in Generation V. I really loved N’s battle theme in particular.

      • Jibun Rest@rt

Agreed. Gen V had a very strong soundtrack between both games (BW and BW2). It wasn’t just N’s themes, either. It also came with a ton of remastered or remixed Gen I/II/III/IV battle themes which were a real treat.

        • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

The amusing part is most of it just flies right over your head until you go back to it.

N’s music wasnt ever really my style anyway. I like the HGSS Rival theme and Colress’s theme

    • Uso Ewin

it definitely wasn’t as good as B&W/2, at least when it came to battle themes

      • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Hell no, the battle themes in X&Y are way better

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

This is great because I already know of 1 song I want to remix =)

  • MrTyrant

I liek Lysandre’s theme myself. I also found the Elite four’s music quite good.

Is there any word on Pokemon the Origin soundtrack?
I really would like -that-. Some of the remixes were pretty amazing but they get drowned by sfx and voices.

    • s07195

Same, I need those remixed themes. :D

  • Sentsuizan_93

    Oooh…
I really liked Sycamore’s theme. A treat for the ears…

    • Meily

      Sounds very… Professor Layton-y.

  • Revorse

The best theme is the Botique theme.

  • AokiShizuku

I loved the music in XY especially the trainer battle theme. I was iffy on whether to get this or not but if Pokemon Origins music in it too then I am most definitely sold!

  • Keksus

Hopefully they have the Lavender Town Track from Origins.

  • Will Jay

If there isn’t a vocal version of KISEKI included I will be extremely disappointed. I’d like all seven languages, but just French or Japanese would be enough.

  • TomSkylark

Among all the other things this generation gets right, the music and sound are among some of the best on the 3DS. The only thing that’s gotten old is, of course, the theme on the route and village near the Daycare because I hear the exact same partial snippets of each as I endlessly push left and then right.

  • Ben Sylvia

Can’t wait until we can get it in US.

I personally really liked the Gym Leader theme, felt it fit with the region’s “beauty” motif. The E4 theme fit their badass designs and rooms. And Champion theme fit her design.

Only really disappointment I had was the rival theme. For Shaun, Trevor, and Tierno it fits, and maybe the first 2 battles against Calem/Serena. But for the latter battles against them, specifically Tower of Mastery and Victory Road, I felt should have had either a faster paced or less “BFF-y” theme.

Overall I was satisfied with the music, felt it fit the areas and design of the region.

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

      Yep

  • komiko12

It’s a shame that gyms didn’t have different themes this time. They added personality.

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

They never had different themes :p You’re referring to the remix tracks they did for the gym leaders

  • DemonKingAsura

    I’d say it has……:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASTZ1zhN4Hs

“He was given a little box”

    :(

  • Shady Shariest

There is actually no real estimate… First minute of so is just “Jigglypuff-calls” and then people wake up to the ending tunes couple hours later…

  • Neophoton

While I felt the battle themes were lacking this gen, they’re more than made up with some of the best town and route themes in the series. Will definitely be picking this up.

  • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

When is the super mega compilation with all the series music going to be released?
