Caesar, Crocodile and Enel Want To Beat You Down In One Piece: Red

By Eugene . November 15, 2013 . 4:06pm

We’re only about less than a week off to the launch of One Piece Unlimited World: Red, and Namco Bandai are showing off more of what we can expect when we have to face down some of the foes on the strange island we’re on. Previously, we’ve seen some of these in real quick pieces, but today we’ve got three videos showing you versus Caesar – in his first appearance in a One Piece game – Crocodile, and Enel in his energy form.

One Piece Unlimited World: Red will be out for the Nintendo 3DS November 21st. And probably next year for Europe, too, if you remember this tidbit.

And yet, Kuro is still nowhere to be found…
Did Namco hate that story arc or something? Seems to me that the Syrup Village arc is often skipped despite being a major one, as Usopp is introduced to the series.
Arvida, Buggy, Kuro, Don Krieg, Smoker, Wapol, Crocodile, Enel, Foxy, Rob Lucci, Spandam, Gecko Moria, Kuma, Magellan, Blackbeard, Hody, Ceasar and Don Flamingo as major bosses, the rest of important villains/rivals as mini-bosses or special bosses, along with 1 to 3 respective stages…
How is THAT hard to understand when making a One Piece game?

    • James Williams

The only important part of Syrup village was introducing Django, that’s all, only Django.

    • Suicunesol

Alvida, Kuro, Buggy, etc are all way too weak to be a match for the Straw hats now.

      • Devinja

Buggy is almost for suregonna be Iin. Hes one of Odas favorites and has continuous appearances in the series. Hes not as weak as those guys.

      • Rayhan PromisedGallery

there are plenty of games showing Strawhats from very early adventure until the end of first half of grand line, and yet Kuro always get skipped in most of games despite being a major villain for one arc (and this is where Luffy recruit CAPTAIN USSSOP!!!!)

It has nothing to do with the power level. It’s like saying Nappa should be skipped in DBZ game because he’s way weaker than Buu-Saga-power-level Goku

      • British_Otaku

Same with Enel, if he got wasted by Luffy back then without Haki and had a poor match up ability wise. If the games really cared about strength, they wouldn’t put Whitebeard, the three Admirals and such in so the Straw Hats can actually win. >_>

The Unlimited series are all titles which throw in as much as they can, making Vivi and Paulie bosses when Monster Chopper and Whitebeard are in there.

Kuro and Buggy made into some recent games too, like Unlimited Cruise and Gigant Battle 2 as playable characters. Maybe Pirate Warriors made Buggy playable too.

    • British_Otaku

Kuro was in Unlimited Cruise and a support in Gigant Battle 1 and 2.
He stands a fair chance of making it into this, in fact the only character you mentioned that never made it into a recent Ganbarion game is… Alvida. And most of the characters you name have been playable in a Ganbarion game.

If you want a more story driven game, play One Piece on the GBA or Romance Dawn on the 3DS.

      • MrJechgo

Kuro and Syrup Village were absent in the Musou games though…

        • British_Otaku

Yes, but Kuro and/or Syrup Village were present in many Ganbarion games (this is the same developer) and Romance Dawn.

While, those two elements don’t pop up too often in games, you can only say that Musou and Tecmo Koei have consistently missed out on him. Not the story spanning RPG Romance Dawn or the fanservice filled Unlimited and Gigant Battle series.

Perhaps, if you have an American system and don’t import it looks like they never pop up, but they do. >_>

Syrup Village arc is the least impressive story out of all 5 original member of Straw Hats. I just wish one day Kaya and Chopper work together to save Usopp’s life.

Why do articles here always call Eneru “Enel?” Is that his name in Viz’s manga translation or something? I mean, I only watch Funimation’s dub of the anime.

    • M’iau M’iaut

That’s back to the old Ls and Rs when the sounds get written into English. I do believe Enel is what is used in publication.

    • TheGameTagerZ

I thought Eneru was a 4kids thing. I remember Luffy calling him that in Grand Adventure.

    • Namuro

I saw quite a few of official One Piece products and merchandises in Japan that spells his name as “Enel”, though.

    • Nan

Enel is his name. Eneru is his name in English translations.

  • Devinja

Hopefully Romanc e Dawn does well enough in America to bring World Red.

  • Anthony Hadow

I ordered the 3DS LL bundle because I suspect this will not reach western shores. Wish it would though would gladly pay for a English copy even if it was a bit more expensive than necessary.

    • British_Otaku

It is all but confirmed to release in Europe you know.

      http://gematsu.com/2013/10/namco-bandai-europes-latest-domain-registrations-short-peace-game-one-piece-unlimited-world-red-more

Whether you live in Europe or not, I would wait till Romance Dawn 3DS has released in Europe and America, been out for a few months and we get some sort of response from Namco Bandai on the sales before importing a limited edition system unless you REALLY want the limited edition.

Importing a European system and a copy of the game would be a good deal cheaper.

      • Anthony Hadow

importing the europe version would be nice however i doubt the 3ds XL that comes with it will be available that is my main reason for the purchase

        • British_Otaku

I see, if you do really want the limited edition system, that is the best choice. You will get to experience a library of great games which are only available for Japanese 3DS systems too (even some free downloads) or you will just get things earlier.

While if you have a European or American 3DS, you aren’t missing “that” much (even if we have no date for Shin Megami Tensei 4 still) from the other.

          • Anthony Hadow

Well I already have an American 3DS but there are several japanese titles that may never end up here in the west that I wanted for this system. Plus most of my titles are probably not going to hit Europe so it seems more advantageous to get the Japanese version.

  • NTaiyokun

This has been bothering me for a while, since its already happened twice.

The official translation for the name is Eneru. I thought I’d just point that out. Unless I glossed over something in the Viz manga, Enel is the fan translation.

    • Namuro

It’s fine either way, but I think it’s supposed to be Enel, according to what is written on the official products.

      • NTaiyokun

Well this threw me for a loop

I prefer Eneru still though. It rolls off the tongue better in the English language.

        • Guest

          …and when i try to say it, Enel’s e’s turn to a’s :x

        • subsamuel01

It’s officially Eneru, but most people call it either way. I watched the anime as Enel so I got used too it like that.

    • Wappuli

He has been Enel in Japan pretty much always, it’s not just fan translation. Name was just changed in to Eneru in English localization for whatever reason, dunno how he is in other languages but atleast in Finnish books he remained as Enel.
I know that this site usually uses the English localized names, but maybe article writer just doesn’t follow English One Piece.

    • XiaomuArisu

      In Germany they used Enel
