Original Final Fantasy Leaves Chaos Tower, Heads To 3DS Virtual Console In Japan

imageSure we’ve seen Final Fantasy on just about everything, but this is the original version of the RPG classic. Final Fantasy for Famicom didn’t have magic points or a dash button and when you missed a Goblin you hit air.

Ah, that brings back memories of a single save slot, but you can use the save state on 3DS to create an extra save slot.

Final Fantasy will be available for Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in Japan on December 18 for 500 yen.

There you go guys, an official Final Fantasy game on the 3DS!

  • Crevox

    because why not

  • Charmchar

I really hope this makes it to the west, i would love to experience my party of White Mages in 3D.

    • InfectedAI

While that would be nice, this is a Virtual Console title. It’s just the original rom running on an emulator. So no 3D.

  • BillyMK

I hope we get it as well and Dragon Warrior too (preferably the gbc version)

Im still waiting for FF 1 and 2 remakes to make it on the PSN.

    • Sora96

They’re there, just in Japan, Australia and Europe.

      • Anthony Hadow

yeah all the places i am not in so still waiting

        • Sora96

It’s been over three years. And you guys got the PSOne Classics instead. Australia and Europe didn’t. I’d love for everyone to have both versions but sadly Square Enix doesn’t care.

          • Anthony Hadow

Square enix seems to be not caring a lot lately

  • The memories! Some good, some not so good.

  • I would rather see some of the Game Boy Final Fantasies (Adventure, Legend, etc.). I was reading about them the other day and surprised to find that some major Square talents (Koichi Ishii, Yoshinori Kitase) got their start with those games. So now I’m curious to give them a try.

Not sure why they don’t port the Dawn of Souls version instead.
