By Spencer . December 19, 2013 . 1:27am

Square Enix shared videos from Final Fantasy X-2 HD, one of the two games in Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster. Battles in Final Fantasy X-2 are reminiscent of Final Fantasy V, except you can switch jobs mid-battle. Final Fantasy X-2 HD has extra dresspheres from the Japan-only International Version like Psychic and the Japanese festival costumes.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster comes out in Japan on December 26. North America gets the HD remakes on March 18, 2014.

  • Anko Is Furious (King T.G.P)

Can’t wait to see this part of the game in HD lol.

  • Chiupon

been waiting so long for this.
ugh my babies are so precious in HD <3

  • Loli Summoner

    Two things.
    1. I use to think pain was ugly, now….shes hot to me.
    2. Real emotion sounds better in english.

    • ν•˜μ„Έμš”

I found Real Emotion and 1000 Words better in English, and I’m a huge Koda Kumi fan.

  • Arcana Wiz

I know this isnt a popular opinion but i really enjoyed X-2 and find the song real emotion really catchy! =D
    Cant wait to play it.

    • Bah, who needs popularity? I had way more fun with FFX-2 than I did with FFX. *liked*

      • Arcana Wiz

        Hell yeah!

    • In retrospect, the game had one of the best battle systems in all FF; not to mention each FF itself has its fans and bashers. I see nothing wrong here.

      • Arcana Wiz

well the problem is that X-2 was almost universally bashed, it had the biggest amount of haters until the XIII saga.

        • Chiupon

it was bashed, but not universally. I feel like you’re projecting some of your own opinions on it. FFX-2 sold well, and it was reviewed mostly well. Just look at metacritic or something. I feel like the people who didn’t like it were outspoken, which doesn’t constitute as it being “universally” bashed. A lot of people like X-2, moreso than those that do not.

    • hazelnut1112

That song was catchy as hell. Would replay that intro a lot just because of how good it was. Even the commercial got me pumped.

  • Monterossa

I hope they wouldn’t replace Real Emotion with that stupid English version. the original song is way better.

    • Anesia Hunter

The Jade from Sweetbox version wasn’t really bad (I think we’ve heard all the multiple versions of the two songs in the game by now.) It was good enough for me to keep replaying it. I’m just hoping for dual-audio this time around.

    • Chiupon

i’m so polarized on this. I love Koda Kumi a lot, but the English ver was pretty special to me too, and they both sound pretty good — I just don’t think the english ver is as powerful as Kuu’s.

  • Anesia Hunter

I know a lot of people hate X-2, but I think I’m one of the few who actually really liked and enjoyed the game. Infact X-2 is the game that made me want a PS2 to begin with. (Oh… Those first few hours of grinding levels off of those grunts of Leblanc’s, using moogle Yuna to heal and then beating the crap out of her and her goons THE FIRST TIME…! *sighs* I miss those days and this game even more now and can’t wait to hear 1000 Words again.)

  • Nanaki

I also really enjoyed X-2. I’ve always enjoyed a game with multiple character jobs/classes, and in this case the roster is enormous and provides many opportunities to include challenges.
That and Rikku seducing Behemoths…I’m envious.

  • Setsu Oh

    …… …….
wait!!!! it is the 1rst time in years that i realise that….

  • cyberkinghardy

Why are the dresspheres only limited in Japan? wew

    • Anesia Hunter

no, they’ll be included this time. the article only stated that the HD remaster will include what was exclusive to the international version.

    • Arcana Wiz

it was a japan only limited edition that had them, this remaster have them and it will be localized with them.

SE loves to do japan only editions….

    • cyberkinghardy

why isn’t NA announcing the vita version?

      • Nick Greeley

They already did. It will retail for the same price as the PS3 version. It is a physical copy of X, and comes with a download voucher for X-2.

  • i am almost more excited about X-2 in HD than X…I used to bash the heck out of this game, but once i didnt own it anymore, i realized that i absolutely loved this game and that it has so many elements that i LOVE, like:
    1. badass female protagonists
    2. magical girls
    3. awesome combat
    4. everything!

    • leingod

I’m more excited about X-2 too… mainly because I skipped it back then, so it’ll be totally new for me.

      • Testsubject909

My suggestion is: Ignore everything you know about X if you played X, see it as it’s own thing and enjoy.

And also, After you’re done having your eyecandy… Go to the options and switch to Skipping the transformation sequences. It helps to keep a nice pace in combat.

    • Testsubject909

I keep on praising X-2 and defending it, so yeah. I’m with you on it.

X isn’t a bad game, but it’s not as entertaining as X-2. Plus I have personal issues with the protagonist of X.

  • FlyingPony

Can’t wait to play the games.

  • NANAandLIZZYfanatic

Somehow in both of these games I think the faces look worse than in the originals. Oh well that’s not gonna stop me from buying them.

  • Testsubject909

And here I am, still wondering the same question.

“Which version of Thousand Words are they going to use?”

Because we have two different English dubs of Thousand Words and two different videos to Thousand Words…

And if there’s a dual audio choice. What happens then? Since the original video made for the English dub doesn’t lip sync with the Japanese version.

  • Nick Greeley

X-2’s original version may have felt bare bones (despite having the best battle system), but the content offered from FFX-2 International is miles better than what FFX International offers. You’ll be surprised at how much MORE you’ll be playing X-2 than X when this remaster comes out.
