Lost swords is STILL a bad idea

    • Ou7

Though Tekken Revolution seem to say otherwise.

  • Bob Obb

The SCLS beta was easily the worst thing I’ve ever played on PS3 and I fucking love SC. It needs to be cancelled and whoever came up with the idea should be fired.

    • Brion Valkerion

Good thing it was a beta and not the full release then huh?

But yeah it was pretty bad, definitely needs a lot of work.

  • Victor Wesker

Harada, why not make upgrade for SC IV or SC V with extra characters, extra stages and extra modes? These FtP games are just waste of money. Personally i prefer complete game instead of this.

    • Brion Valkerion

Because Harada does not make Soul Calibur, he makes Tekken. And F2P games have been working out well for them apparently. Helps bring new interest to the series before eventually a new release.

I participated in the Ace Combat open beta with my “fake” japanese account, and it was great!…

  • Syn

Oh my poor SC, how can such a titan who was the beacon of an amazing fighting system, bringer of a million gameplay modes, and one of the few fighting games that had such a strong story(by fighting game standards) fall so far…….It saddens me that so much was lost in just one gen………….

    • megaten666

For money, developers will do almost anything, and that’s just sad.
Yesterday, I tried the new DBZ game’s demo. And there’s no offline local multiplayer. In a fighting game. No offline competitve mode. In a fighting game. :(

  • Zikrayrus “Zikk” Dis Pear

The AC community kinda expected the AC:I delay considering that the original beta just stopped out of nowhere. Anyways, the new beta worked out pretty well for me. No problems at all…

They need higher enemy density though.

    • Brion Valkerion

Yeah the AC beta was super fun. I think they are probably fine tuning the multiplayer and content unlocks/premium content at this point because it seemed to work very well.

Only sad part was no Su-47… every Ace Combat needs that monster!

      • Zikrayrus “Zikk” Dis Pear

We totally need that. Sadly the T-50 seems to have taken its spot as god level soviet aircraft T_T

Me? All I need is mah sexy MIG-29 :D

        I didn’t unlock it during the beta though ;_;

    • Lynx

They need more single player, to put it bluntly.

Also; need to trim down the recharge time too. Hell, give it JoJo’s count. It’s more than Battle Operation right now!

      4. HOURS.

      • Zikrayrus “Zikk” Dis Pear

Yeah 4 hours is horrendously obscene. And that’s not even considering that one mission is around…5- 10 minutes?

Not only that. The upper limit of fuel is 2…Really?

If you can’t be able to make a proper Soul Calibur game, can’t we just had a good Soul Calibur III HD Remaster port? At the very least. SC4 and 5 was a joke. Far less content, than on last gen? Are you kidding me?

    • C├ęsar H. Sandoval

I woud buy an HD version of SCIII, I played that for hours back in the day,

    • Brion Valkerion

So mindless grind content makes a fighting game good? SC5 is one of if not the sharpest playing of the bunch. Sure the side stuff was… non-existent but people really gotta stop overlooking the amazingly well done game play and dare I say PERFECT online quality.

May have been unfinished single player wise, but they nailed the actual fighting game in that small dev time.

      • Christopher Nunes

Perfect online quality? I wouldn’t say so in my opinion… it was sensitive as hell! Even if you were are 4 or 5 Bars of connection strength if even ONE lag spike happens you automatically get disconnect. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so frequent all the time and then I would say it had perfect online quality.

At least in SC4 you can GET matches most of the time despite how cruddy it was.

And amazing well-done gameplay? It had its moments, but I think tying the Guard Impact system to a Special Gauge was one of the dumbest idea and really limited your options to defend or evade. It’s not fun most of the time and just shortens the fight considerable.

It was faster and I didn’t mind the Super Moves much, but I felt like they went one step forward two steps backwards. Honestly I rather play SC3 and SC4 more than SC5 as there’s more to do in them than 5. but I hate the Tower in 4 no joke.

SC2 had the perfect speed and gameplay for the series and SC3 had the best amount of content and single player fun while still having the amazing multiplayer aspect to it (I can’t recall how many times my friends and I have played 3). If only a SC game combined those two… and SC3 had the best CaS in my opinion because you had ORIGINAL fighting styles as oppose to being copy characters and I miss earning weapons for the characters and their unique abilities when equipped.

SC5 had some good points, but in no way was it the perfect SC game… it fell short, which is sad as I was looking forward to it during that time when they announced it.

  • Hector Velar

EF-12 will right Namco/Bandai’s wrongs with SC series…. I can see it happening in a year or two.

  • Abysswalker90

Let me get this straight – Bamco doesn’t let Project Soul finish their fifth(sixth, if you want to be picky) title in their main series, which is one of Bamco’s stronger franchises, and force them to release an unfinished game, yet now they intend to give them enough time to work on this f2p version?

They either came to their senses, or just lost their minds.

  • fayt255

I don’t know about a free to play Soul Calibur being good, however I hope they bring some of old characters and not leave well almost everyone.
