Heh, so you basically pay for a lower price. That’s a clever way of tricking the customer.

    • Tricking what? It’s called marketing strategy, especially with the sequel for versus is coming out, they probably want more people to try shinobi versus to create larger fan base for EV.

      • oshiritataki

PlayStation Plus is a paid service. People think they’re making a good deal while in fact they’ve already paid for the deal. That’s a common “market strategy” as you call it. I call it tricking people.

        • Landale

You act as though the discounts are the only thing to it.

          • oshiritataki

No, but other FREE services have discounts as well. Why not offer the discount to non-Plus members as well?

          • rhomze

Then the ps plus will be pointless no?

          • oshiritataki

Not at all. It’s still used as a way of paying for great servers durin online play.

This is just taking the customer’s money, then giving it back again – watching as the customer think he’s made a great deal.

          • Bobby Jennings

Honestly getting my money back after I’ve spent it is a great deal.

          • Landale

$50 for a year. Even ignoring all the random perks of PS+ it very quickly pays itself back and then some. Right now DmC is free, that’s $40, Borderlands 2 is free, that’s $30, already got $20 more than you started with, Ico’s free, there’s another $20, Shadow of the Colossus, there’s another $20. We’re already up $60. That’s the quick way to get more than your money’s worth, but it does come with the strings attached of continuing to pay for the service. Discounted stuff though? If you paid even $.01 on something, even if you let your PS+ expire, that stuff is still yours. While most discounts are fairly small, a couple bucks here and there, stuff like this isn’t exactly rare and helps to offset the cost quickly.

What part of that is not a deal?

          • Shippoyasha

While it is an excellent deal, I hope game downloads are up for the duration of the service you get and not cycled out all the time. It’s a bit frustrating when I get done with a game and see that they cycled out the game I wanted to downoad later. I just wish it isn’t a rush to finish games all the time. Otherwise, yeah, it’s a great service. Stuff like Xbox Live Gold is finally inching at giving players *something* with their free-with-Gold titles and a few freebies here and there. PS+ has a huge glut of it. Even if the PS4 can use some more free stuff.

          • Bobby Jennings

Just download the game so it stays in your download history forever. Even if you don’t play it right away you want it to at least “register” under your name for play later.

          • Hachio

excuse me but you are talking about north american ps plus. For the
japanese ps plus there is not a lot going on. In fact it is total shit,
and this deal is for the japanese ps plus. anyway I was a member of
both for about 2 years and i can tell you from experience that the
japanese screw their customers over big time. I dont know it it has to
do with distribution rights or whatever but the japanese ps plus sucks
            bit time.

          • Lester Paredes

It is a great deal. discounts plus loads of free games. Borderlands 2 is 40 bucks alone and already almost pays for the sub. If all you got was Borderlands 2 last month, and DMC this month, you’ve saved 30 bucks.

          • Bobby Jennings

Your votes are just rising o.O

          • Landale

Not all discounts require PS+ to my knowledge

          • Duo Maxwell

You brat should grow up and stop wanting everything to be free.

PS+ is a paid service, and the discount is the extra for the service.

Next you are going to tell me Netflix and Amazon Premium are tricking their customers.

        • ekibyougami

There’s also a difference between a totally free game via PS+ and a discounted game via PS+. You get to keep the game for life for the latter’s case.
What’s so bad about getting a 50% for a game in which you get to keep forever even if you’re no longer subscribed to PS+?

        • Yan Zhao

Those upvotes and downvotes are phenomonal, shady. Well deserved, but shady.

  • Guys, buy it! One of the best games on Vita with lots of contents. <3

    • almostautumn

If a flat 20 hours of mashing square, following with triangle, and mashing square some more is your idea of valuable “content,” than I’m afraid we differ greatly here.

      • What about you look at the rest? C’mon now, there’s more than the gameplay in this game, a lot more. Story Mode is super long, but to enjoy it, you need to understand it. Multiplayers is fun, too.

      • butts

So you just described this and pretty much every other beat em’ up/action game in existence. May as well not even be excited for the new games coming out at all since it’s doubtful they’ll change the formula too drastically.

True, these games aren’t particularly deep, but they carry the simplicity of the musou effect quite well. Nothing wrong with a little mindless fun, especially when it’s combined with a great presentation and entertaining story/cast. And there is a little more to do than straight button mashing. The multiplayer is also a blast if you can get some actual people to play with.

  • EinMugenTenshin

There is something seriously fishy about the upvotes and downvotes in the discussion above. There is actually more people around to downvote than upvote despite it requires an account to downvote, and not to upvote the counterpart. Also the voting suddenly just stop at some point even though it is close to the same period in time. Not to mention that it is completely one sided and in a commersial post which usually ain’t more populare than the main posts. Also considering Senran Kagura’s normal topic for happy “plot” never has gotten above 300 upvotes, and in no way been close to 300 downvotes.

    What the ****?

I don’t really care about PS+, but this doesn’t seem like the actions of the public to me. What is going on here?

    • Landale

Bots. If you see any large number of votes either way on a single person, or just mass downvoting it’s a bot. We have several of them that pop up from time to time. This is nothing new.

      • Guest

Ah, so it’s a thing? Thanks for updating me on the subject, now I know. -_-

      • Demeanor

I kind of fail to see the point of it… some people must have a lot of… free time, so to speak.

    • Duo Maxwell

I don’t know about the other, but I don’t bother upvoting everyone who is standing against him. That’s just plain aggressive. Just upvote anything that you think good, and vice versa.

  • British_Otaku

Senran Kagura Burst also has a physical copy on sale according the livestream, but I guess maybe less people have a Japanese 3DS and want to pick up a copy of Burst 2 years later even if there is a bonus for having save data.

  • Z3

HOHOHOHOHO I was about to buy this yesterday. Good thing I waited

  • Wappuli

For those who are interested in this sale but dont wish to buy PSN+: the campaign for 15 days of free PSN+ is still on untill 3rd February if you haven’t used it yet.

  • dark-kyon
