    Was going to happen eventually

    • British_Otaku

Namco Bandai have been building up to this with One Piece games having tons of DLC (from Kaizoku Musou/Pirate Warriors to Unlimited World RED) to the sound editions (this game and J Stars Victory Vs).

I guess with licensed games of this calibre, they don’t even care unless it guarantees the maximum profits for the mininum amount of buyers. >_> Normally, I would completely write off the game till it costs pennies, but another Gundam fan in my household will snap it up. >_>

  • s07195

Wait, I thought there weren’t going to be DLC mobile suits from a previous interview?

  • andref

Wonder if there probably being a code to verify the game for online play, wonder if it will prevent imported copies being used online

    • Brion Valkerion

It won’t/shouldn’t. Would be super weird if it did since no other title has made it work that way.

      • andref

I was just curious, since i figured any sort of online pass would be region specific

  • Brion Valkerion

Most likely doing the pass because they are expecting a fair amount of used game purchases. Tons of people still play the first game but with the PS4 like… 2 weeks after this drops they might be trying to play it safe.

    • KnifeAndFork

I was initially expecting this to be a PS4 title though

Watch they pull an online pass for their future PS4 titles anyway

  • Andrew A

Kinda relieved I didn’t preorder this. Wouldn’t the Online Pass only cover your Japanese account?

  • Repede91

If someone were to redeem the online pass on a secondary JP account, would they be able to play online on a their primary NA/EU account?

  • ogglock

I’m able to play demos downloaded on my JP account and play them on my na account. I don’t see why online passes would work any differently as long as you have your JP account on your ps3

  • KyoyaHibari

Wait, Full Boost or standard EVS? This is confusing.

    • Duo Maxwell

There is navi, obviously it’s Full Boost.

  • Spirit Macardi

Clearly Namco doesn’t want our love, but they’ll gladly take our anger and all of our sorrow.

  • Bigabu Beaze

Wait I’m confused. Do you need the pass to play the game offline?

    • British_Otaku

      No you don’t.

Online passes just block the online features from accessibility (which is pretty key when people have gotten used to it from the last game and most of the generation), unless you have a free code from being an early buyer or pay a sum to access features already on the game.

It targets second hand buyers who usually don’t give a penny (outside of the tons of DLC nowadays) back to the developer/publishers and is pretty evil.

      • Bigabu Beaze

Oh that is evil! Thanks for explaining it.

  • KnifeAndFork

Damn…..just can’t catch a break this gen… I thought we were done with this online pass mess

    Thanks EA

  • eilegz

what a mess so i cant play this using my main psn account…. because of online pass this its really bad, so even ea ended online pass, why namco bandai push this “new” thing….

sigh this and the dlc when the game its not even out its just bad i guess i wait for the price reduction to get this….

japan instead of improving and learning good thing about western developers its just adapting the worse and keep doing the same thing
