DLC again……..Day one even. just great

    • pixxxelz

      Ikr capcom never disappoints…..

    • http://fr.twitch.tv/Nhatalya Aleksandrina

Honey, you’re late. DLC costumes were announced first in June 2013.

They’re just costumes. That doesn’t affect the gameplay or how you play the game. AESTHETICS.

      • XiaomuArisu

        Like I said
        It still sucks

        • Ixbran

How? DLC is optional, that dosent effect the core of the game.

        • 愛憎

I promise that I won’t make you buy it.
          It’s going to be okay.

    • DaiRaiOh

Who cares. Not like anything in the game changes if you don’t get it

      • powerlessbump

I remember a time when costumes unlocked on their own, day 1.

        • Kaihedgie

They still do. You people just like to forget they do

        • DaiRaiOh

Great thing they still do. You know, because they actually still do

        • powerlessbump

It’s good to know you people willingly give more money to something that you know is already there.

          • DaiRaiOh

I never said I’d be buying it. I’m just not going to complain about optional cosmetics because I’m not an idiot and also because my memory is good enough to remember back when there were no costume dlcs. You know what there was instead? Nothing. You didn’t get an option. You just got nothing.

          • powerlessbump

No, you got a complete game. Now you get a 99% complete game and have to pay to get that last percent. Costume DLC down the road? Sure why not, but day 1 pay DLC is just proving your holding back from the customers.

          • Kaihedgie

You didn’t get a complete game back then either. A LOT of old games have unused content hidden inside that you can’t access unless you cheat/hack.

You can’t possibly be this naive. Have you even heard of Did You Know Gaming or the Cutting Room Floor wiki, a site dedicated to scrounging up stuff that went unused, and yet is fully functional?

Here, I’ll even link you to some examples:

            http://tcrf.net/Sonic_Adventure_2:_Battle

            http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_3_%28Arcade%29

Heck, let’s take this even further: http://tcrf.net/Category:Games_with_unused_characters

Unlike now, devs back then didn’t get to finish what they started and if they did, they had to do it in an updated game you had to buy separately.

          • powerlessbump

I’m not, but good on you getting hung up on that rather than the argument.

          • Kaihedgie

You complained about Day 1 DLC and how we have to buy things to unlock them instead of simply playing through the game.

Dai and I gave you examples of what happened instead back then in those oh-so-golden glory days

          • powerlessbump

Dai did, you just ran an ad for crf.

          • Kaihedgie

            No I didn’t

          • DaiRaiOh

Or that you’re running a business and decide to finish up something after a game goes gold. Stop twisting the truth of things because you have an issue with something that doesn’t matter. More so considering companies hold back on the customers a lot, and always have since before DLC in actual significant ways. This is not a significant way

          • powerlessbump

If it’s something that didn’t matter, why are you goading me into arguing?

The truth is people can’t prove if capcom is working on this pre or post production.

          • DaiRaiOh

Because not caring is such a poor excuse to not do something, especially when one has nothing to do at the time.

And that’s why everyone should shut up about day one dlc if they can’t prove jack s***. No need to whine over such assumptions.

          • powerlessbump

I disagree, capcom has a poor enough track record that their day 1dlc should be taken with a grain of salt.

          • Kaihedgie

Other companies have an equally bad or even worse track record of day 1 DLC, but people like to pick on Capcom because that’s the trendy thing to do.

          • powerlessbump

We aren’t in a thread about other companies. This is a capcom game with day 1 DLC. It’s not trendy, it’s not new.

          • DaiRaiOh

Well I suppose one could look at it that way if they used terrible and biased reasoning as well I suppose

        • Muffum

So do I. Since SB4 actually does have unlockable costumes.

  • Luke Blackwood

FEATURING DANTE FROM THE DEVIL MAY CRY SERIES

    • MaximDualBlade

      is there another one?

      • Luke Blackwood

Someone didn’t quite got the joke xd

    • Lucky Dan

WE get the old dante yuck! I want the new edgy Dante from the DMC remake, who wants to play a white haired prettyboy?

      • Unlimax

        You can’t be serious !?
I’d rather choose this rip-off of Dante on the picture than this ugly looking Justin Bieber “Donte” who pretending to be on the “reboot” , Let’s be serious ..
WHO Don’t want the old looking Dante ?
-cry me a river if you don’t want to-

      • Fidelis

Sure okay let’s open up this can of worms again, why not

  • DragKudo

Why not just put Dante in the game. I pretty sure people would love that more than just a DLC costume that does nothing.

    • Godmars

A costume option is cheaper all around than including attack animations.

      • DragKudo

Yeah, but they’d probably get a lot more back.

        • Godmars

From what? Doubt having DOA/Ninja Gaiden characters in a similar title did anything to sell that game. Not notably.

          • DragKudo

This is Devil may cry were talking about a series that people love more than Ninja Gaiden.

          • Kaihedgie

            That’s debatable

        • 愛憎

That would be a bad investment for Capcom to make, I think. They likely would not get much back at all because that small addition wouldn’t sell the game to unconvinced buyers, and he would not fit into a game about historical fiction. (I’m a huge fan of DMC 3 and 4, by the way)

          • DragKudo

Alrigh. but how does not fit in a game like this but but the other stuff that isnt historical or did not really happen inthhe sengoku era does? He wouldnt be the first demon tovbe inthe game.

          • 愛憎

Because he’s a pre-established character from another timeline. He’s not from the warring states period. I guess I’m out of touch; who else is a demon in that series?

          • DragKudo

Ok wouldn’t say demon but Nanbu Harumasa was able to summon zomnies and other mystical stuff.

          • 愛憎

I think I’ve proved my point and am done with this discussion. Your points are very convoluted and contradictory, so I’m out!

    • DaiRaiOh

Probably because they haven’t had guest characters before, and I doubt they’re gonna start. As it turns out, many teams prefer for a game to stand on it’s own and not be held up by crossover support.

  • Enma_Kozato

That’s… one mighty elephant for Capcom’s room.

  • roockie112

Alright now Yukimura or Ieyasu as Nero lol

    • Spirit Macardi

Yukimura would be hilarious, since he and Nero share the same voice XD

    • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Most people would rather some how fit Nero’s costume onto Nobunaga…because same weapon set and abilities almost.

  • Exkaiser

    VERY CRAZY.

  • MasterScrub

    Man, lookit all them Rebellions!

    • D-Rev

      Is it Alastor?

  • Warboss Aohd

Wow Capcom, you are reeeeeeeeeeally trolling the DMC fanbase (kind of), be Veeeeeeeeery careful how you tread.

    • Kaihedgie

Stop with this “trolling” stupidity. It’s really annoying

      • Warboss Aohd

        you mean they aren’t?

        • mikanko

One of Sengoku Basara’s producers is also the producer for Japanese developed DMC games. Is likely a handful of SB’s designers are old castoffs from DMC games at that.

So yeah, probably not intended as a troll.

        • $1392518

It would be actual trolling if it was NT’s DMC.
And DMC stuff in Basara isnt new at all.

          • Warboss Aohd

            oh, nevermind then.

      • 愛憎

Judging from the image, Warboss may be a relative to the trolls.

  • http://www.shonengamez.com/ GameEmpireHD (Kaitou)

My body is ready for this one.

  • Godmars

So now they’re just pretending that the other guy never existed? Was only a Western invention?

    • subsamuel01

The game was a flop, the moment Capcom introduced the new Dante they killed the game.

      • Alexander Marquis Starkey

Wasn’t really a flop, sold decently, has lots of controversial opinions, and…I should get PS+ so I can play it.

  • rekka_zan

I’m not surprised to see a Dante costume in Sengoku Basara, I mean it’ll be there eventually. But I’m a bit surprised to see that they decided to use THIS Dante.

  • Alexis Sandoval

    We need more rebbellions.

  • http://archaois.deviantart.com/ Brian E. Scheid

And they have the same English VA… PERFECT! Granted I doubt this will get localized.

    • DaiRaiOh

If it did, I would hope they don’t keep 3′s voice cast. I’d much rather they use the anime cast as they did such a fantastic job. Especially for Date and Keiji. Especially especially Keiji.

      • Alexander Marquis Starkey

I’d rather they stuck with 3 casts…shit was so good.

  • Namuro

    DAYUM!!! That’s so cool!

Where’d he get all those Alastor swords from, anyway. LOL

Also, I kinda wish that Dante would sport a similar spiky hairstyle in his next game…

  • Kaihedgie

I guess Dante didn’t abandon Alastor after all.

Which begs the question: why didn’t he carry both of them during the anime?

    • DragKudo

Alastor left to hang out with Viewtiful Joe.

  • Learii

sorry but dante don’t have a eye patch or 6 swords he have gun and a sword

    • Kaihedgie

…This is a costume, not a separate character.

  • gRiMmYdArK13

Do you think Devil May Cry 5 will ever come out?

  • Pdugna

Soooo new DMC5 coming next-gen and ditching that weird hazed dream that was DMC by NT?

    • KuroNathan

I didn’t think the design for NT dante was bad, it was just the everything else…

      • Pdugna

I gave to shits about the design…I just didn’t like the new dante knowing the old one exists and how he acted, old Dante acted like a fucking badass because he had major powers and he didn’t hide it. This new one acts bad but by the end tries to become more relatable to humans because he is half human this time and relatable characters in gaming I don’t mind more of but when that same character is taking down freaking Giants and gods I don’t want that same character trying act human when they aren’t. Hence old dante being better then the new one,

        • DragKudo

new dante isn’t human at all.

  • Servant BerserCAR

    It’s Masamune DANTE everybody. Jackpot!

    • 愛憎

I just commented, then decided to search for anyone else who said the same thing. Excellent. I’m proud of you.

      • Servant BerserCAR

As they said, “Great minds think alike” :D

        • 愛憎

I was thinking of saying that, too!!

          • Servant BerserCAR

            o_o

  • Nitraion

Alestor comeback debut since Original first game..

  • 愛憎

They chose a great character (my favorite, in fact, but that’s irrelevant!) for this costume since the names are so similar.

    Masamune Dante!!

  • Oxybelis

Last screenshot reminds me of Onimusha.

  • z_merquise

It’s been a long time coming. Basara’s Date Masamune seems to had inspiration from Dante of Devil May Cry since the character designer of Basara series (Makoto Tsuchibayashi) also designed the characters from DMC 1. Not sure about DMC 2-4 though.

  • soulz

I always find it funny when capcom say’s there ready to move on with the new Dante (from DMC) but they can’t help but keep revisiting the old (the better) Dante.

  • Göran Isacson

It only makes sense, really. He had Sextuple Alastors even back in the days of freaking Devil Kings, this is just closing the circle.

  • fairysun

Dante Masamune from Date Masamune Cry (DMC) series …..
    ….
    …….

OK, I know where the exit is.

  • MrJechgo

All we need now is Yukimura as Nero XD

  • Fidelis

Man, this would be a double whammy if localized, with Date and Date sharing Reuben as a voice actor and all

  • mockturtle

Nice to see they used DMC1′s Dante costume. DMC3′s is sexier but also more prevalent elsewhere.

Now the only question is when is this coming to America? Oh right, never, because Capcom US hates us.

  • BeatTheGG

    Dante would be flattered lol.
