By Spencer . February 10, 2014 . 12:23pm

l_52e881572e8dc Aksys will bring the PlayStation Vita version of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma to North America. This version of Arc System Works’ fighting game includes a brand new scenario where Noel, Ragna, Celicia, and Kagura are hanging out at the beach.

Fans can also catch up on the story in the Vita release since it includes summaries of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma for Vita has all of the modes from the PS3 version including Arcade, Unlimited Mars, Survival, and an enhanced Abyss mode.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is slated for PS3 in March. The Vita version is due in summer 2014.

Glad to know now before the PS3 version came out so I can cancel that preorder. I’d much rather have the enhanced version

    • Ferrick

i wouldn’t call the addition of beach scenes as “enhanced version”

    • Astrotrain

You still have to buy Terumi and Kokonoe as DLC.

      • Manny Being Manny

What? Everything I’ve heard says that they are in the game as standard characters now.

        • Kayseur

No, Astrorain78 is right. They’re not included, though the DLC are crossbuy in Japan. It’s pretty sad since older handheld ports had them, but I guess that’s the “price” to pay for having this port so soon after the home release.

          • Arcana Drill

actually if the ports had DLCs the some fans would complain, and now when they dont have it… others complain.

            Impossible to please everyone.

          • Kayseur

Right. Though coming from ArcSystemWorks I don’t think anyone would be surprised anymore if early buyers of their first build of games were left out again, haha.

          • NeoStrayCat

To me, I think its just gonna be the same game, same content, just to go, and whatever updates/patches to go along with it also, other than that, those pre-ordering the PS3 version in their 1st print run will have a code insert inside of the game to play as Terumi though, dunno if we’ll see Kokonoe day 1 (or later) to purchase though. Of course, the wait will be long, but we’ll worth it.

  • Ryan Chiu

Can’t wait for summer now! Already pre-ordered the PS3 version, definitely gonna get the Vita version too.

  • XypherCode

How about the LE? Still only PS3?

  • Pandakids09 .

Hoping we get a special edition for the Vita too

    • http://www.unit03.net blackraen

Limited Edition will be PS3 only. Arc just pushes the mobiles as another way to sell extra copies of the game. I’d be surprised if this even gets a physical release in the US.

Edit: Yep, surprised. As TheExil285 notes, physical is confirmed.

Still no Limited Editions listed on Japanese retailer sites though, so with release just a little over a month away, safe to say that no limited edition release for Vita版 looks to be the case.

      • Tyler Beale

Vita version of CSE got the LE too…and it was a launch title…

      • TheExile285

Where are you getting this from? Anyway, there’s a physical release for the both the NA & JP Vita version:

Cool news on the physical release.

Regarding lack of LE for Vita, none of the Japanese retailers I’ve checked are listing a pre-order for a limited edition, only a normal Vita release. That is my researched source for stating that LE is unlikely.

          • Kayseur

I didn’t even know preorders were already open. Must’ve missed them (and I’ll place mine now then), but you’re right, seems there’s no LE even in Japan, makes it hard for US to get one.

  • Hamaro

    Yeeeessssssss, thank you Aksys!

  • dragoon_slayer12

I was actually considering skipping this until I read story summary.

  • Alex Sargeant

I had no idea this was coming out in March. I don’t think I can wait until the Vita release. I need that story.

  • crimsonidol

The article picture fits perfectly. Is there any better way to celebrate summer than with Noel and Celica in swimsuits (ah, and Ragna and Kagura too, of course)

  • The Watcher

    .combos on the go yo

  • Kintama

    Meanwhile in Europe…

    • Tsukihi

    • God

      You are welcome.

    • otakumike

…Rachel enjoyed a nice cup of Earl Grey.

  • fireemblembeast

If it has the same LE I’m switching to this.

no censorship on Noel’s please. That CG is going to be one of my VITA’s wallpapers.

    • Scipio

Aksys never stoops to that level.

  • Shady Shariest

    Kokonoe.

  • artemisthemp

I hope news about the EU version is been announced soon.

  • leingod

I was excited to read “summer”, since it’s summer where I live… but then I remembered for you it means July or something like that.
