I don’t care about western stuff but keep those Japanese games coming :D

  • tonyp1987

Im currently playing borderlands(1)goty on ps3 beat it on pc but now I can play borderlands 2 goty on ps vita best year ever

  • Zer0faith
    • Tyler Beale

This. …is what’ll happen to mine by the end of March. Final Fantasy X, BlazBlue, and Miku are all lined up to give my wallet a good beating, and if NISA announces Nep-Nep preorders, that’ll beat down my wallet even more.

    • Namuro

Well then, stop slacking off and get back to frying those patties!!

      Work for your games!!

  • Revolver Jesus Super Pimp

God of War 1 and 2 on the go doesn’t sound too bad…but considering I have the PS2, PSP, and PS3 copies….I’ll wait for a price drop, but it looks like I picked the right time to get a Vita.

  • Games! Games! Now just need time :D

  • neocatzon

So, at least 8 games per month? Sweet~

  • Tenabrus

yeah but of those 100 games only abut 10 of them are going to be actual solid titles or decent ports and the other 90 will be the indies that, no offense while can be unique and entertaining, aren’t enough to carry the handheld through and through.

    • icecoffemix

I could say the same to 3DS actually, opinion.

  • Thaddeus Phillips IV

I try to buy as many physical copies of games as possible and I have a 32 GB memory card for my Vita. Still, I have had to start deleting games off my system.

I’m so ready for more Vita goodness, but I think I’m gonna need a bigger memory card.

  • Lilith

Please bring Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. I wouldn’t mind DQ VIII either except that doesn’t exist for Vita.

  • AkiraScare

I just want NIS/IF/CompileHeart games… dont care much for the other games….

    • Tyler Beale

I felt the same way about Sonic games, but after Sonic 06, I learned to open up to other great franchises.

Of course, I want some Nep-Nep love on my Vita too. We’ll be getting that with Neptunia PP, and hopefully Re;birth 1 as well, later this year.

Seriously, Japan has 4 Neptunia games (2 of which are already released, the 3rd is coming out in March, and the 4th is coming later), yet we haven’t even gotten one….What the fuck, NISA. Just playing, lol…I love you guys….unless you decide to -once again- give only 1/4 of those games an English dub.

      • AkiraScare

not gonna lie i do play other games of course like Last of us, Borderlands, FF…. But those companies are my favs (^_^) Yes and cant wait for…. Rebirth PP…

    • Roberto

Still waiting for la pucelle ragnarok and makai kingdom portable nisa

      • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

You’re goimg to wait forever. NISA already said they had no plans to bring them. They sold pretty poorly by comparison to Disgaea. And PB Portable didnt do well either.

        • Tyler Beale

Like I said in another post, come the 13th, my predictions of their announcements are Neptunia (release date/LE for PP and announcement of R;b1), Disgaea 4 Return, Fairy Fencer F, Mugen Souls Z, more anime shit, and maybe a surprise or two.

I say “anime shit” not because I hate anime, but rather 1. NISA being the publisher (they only do subs and sometimes burn them in the video), and 2. Many of the recent Prinny Bombs were all anime announcements. Look, I love anime, but I’d rather have game annoucements, dood!

          • AkiraScare

Yeah im more into the games than the animes… dont really like there selection… except for Denpa onna to otoko seisshun…. somethin like that…

Naw i know wat u mean by that shit … anyways wouldlove to hear more hdn to empty my wallet on… and more ps3 games wouldnt hurt me… well would kill the wallet but oh well (^_^)

          • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

They probably make decent money off of the anime they release.

  • Karabuki

they’re doing what they did with the psp, just bringing ports and not original titles, even trigger happy havoc, ff x-x2, and p4g which i think are the most solid ones already came out years ago.

    • Kayseur

At least Sony Japan Studio *is* making exclusive games, and some other (smaller or not) developpers are as well, but they’re just not out yet. I’m thinking of Gravity Rush 2, OreShika, FW, SS Delta, Phantasy Star Nova, Digimon for exemple. Though the last two might never make it over.

So yeah they aren’t promoting what they really should right now, but it’s not like they have the choice. However, once all of those titles will be ready to be put on shelves, it might actually change… or so I hope.

      • subsamuel01

They got some of the best first party studios and most of them have yet to put a game out on the Vita. Sony Japan has done the most work, Guerrilla games had Killzone, and MM had Teraway. Besides That most of the other studios haven’t made anything wonder why. Imagine if Naughty Dog made a game on the Vita.

    • MaximDualBlade

Differents tastes for different people man. Also of the games you mentioned I had only played P4 on the ps2 and you must admit that P4G is extremely superior to the original. I had like 130h of fun just on my first playthrough in golden and I finished the ps2 like 3 times, but the golden version brought more than enough stuff for me a “veteran” to enjoy it like it was a new game.

  • konsama

Well im up for a portable real minecraft, i jsut hope it won’t take ages to be out. Aside of it can’t think of anything i want in it.

  • Lemski07

BETTER BE TRUE! wheres my god eater 2 announcement? wait. none?

Only 11GB used on my 64 GB card, and its full of psp games using TN

  • ThatGuy3190_7

Persona 4: Dancing All Night please.

    • AlphaSixNine

  • DesmaX

Quite a impressive feat for the Vita to run Borderlands 2 with all of the Dlc on the cartridge.

Annyone knows how it works there? After the Injustice port, I do get a little worried

    • ronin4life

It sounds more like it is a download voucher:

“Borderlands 2 is slated for spring and a voucher will be bundled with the slim PlayStation Vita plus an 8 GB memory card for $199.99.”

      • Kayseur

It definitly is for the bundle. And I wouldn’t be surprised if, for the regular retail version, they actually made the DLC the same way they’re making FFX-2. A code included in the box to be downloaded separately. I have a hard time seeing how those 4gb Vita game cards could fit that whole Borderlands 2 and its addons.

      • DesmaX

Yeah, that makes more sense. My bad

  • Fronkhead

While I’m out until the sweet blue/yellow models are released in Europe (I am tempted to pick up a Japanese one though), one thing I have learned is Nintendo really need to step up their marketing or PR towards the Wii U like Sony do with Vita.

The Wii U has 120+ indie games on their way this year, so like Vita the majority of games reaching the west this year will probably be indie titles with the exception of a few third party games from bigger publishers, but you certainly wouldn’t have known it…

    • ronin4life

They recently did actually. Not that most site bothered to report it…

    • phayroent

The Wii U does not have 120 + indie games coming. A lot of those are still in kickstarter phase, and HAVE to reach funding before they even get started. There are that many with goals for Wii U. The PC ports will make it, maybe this year. And the article never said that those games were coming THIS YEAR anyway. Just clarifying before you start a fanboy war here.

      • Fronkhead

I’m not sure why you’re pointing the finger at me as to starting a ‘fanboy war’, I didn’t intend to start a fanboy war at all, I was merely expressing my frustration about how Nintendo loves to stay silent all the time.
Mind you, there are handful of indie games on the way to Wii U which have been funded and are nearing release, alongside those being made using Nintendo Web FrameWork, which Nintendo aren’t leveraging for good PR, as it were.
Thanks for the heads-up on the indie games, though, as I never read the article I was directed to about them.

  • Daru Titor

how is danganronpa not on here?
    it comes out tomorrow

    • D H

Um, that’s probably the reason it ISN’T on there… this is about FUTURE games, and I while it really is, I don’t really consider things release tomorrow to be “upcoming” titles…

      • Daru Titor

I couldn’t care less about your opinion.
If it hasn’t come out yet, it’s upcoming.

  • Ying

Is this related to what Sony said about more than 100 games coming out for Playstation 4? I just read that on Game Informer then come over here and see the same thing for Vita so I’m confused.

  • Ben Lyd

  • mojack411

Almost all the games in that list are ports. Look, it’s great that the Vita is almost like a portable PS3 but it’s time to get some true originals that truly take advantage of the Vita’s . Gravity Rush had just scratched the surface of that and it’s great that a sequel is coming but can we get other games that do that too? Or if not at least a solid exclusive.

  • NintendoPSXTheSecond

Sony, I’m still waiting for THE game that I’ll use my Vita for. I’ll give you till E3. Nothing then, I just might sell this paperweight. None of these ports man, yes we KNOW the Vita is as strong as a PS3, we get it. Can we get some more ORIGINAL titles for it please?

    • JMaster3000

I never had a PS3 so its all new for me :D

    • icecoffemix

Just sell it. If game like Ys, Toukiden, Tearaway, Gravity Rush, Muramasa (and many more) and the announced game does not interest you, why even bother?

  • Earthjolly

2013 was the year of 3ds. 2014 is the year of vita

  • Kayseur

Well, for people complaining (or who’d want to complain) about that list, I’ll put this here again.

This list is absolutely not exhaustive, there are a lot of other games coming in 2014, in Japan for sure but also for the west.

And some of them effectively aren’t ports. Namely, we have Toukiden this week, Danganronpa (it is a remake, but it’s exclusive in the West), Demon Gaze, Mind Zero for confirmed exclusive localizations. XSEED also has teased Senran Kagura: SV, and Akiba’s Trip 2 but that one’s a multiplat.

Plus, Sony Japan is developing games scheduled to be released this year. Yes, we might not even get them in time for christmas, but they will exist, that’s what matters.
Gravity Rush 2, Freedom Wars, Over my dead body 2, Soul Sacrifice Delta are some of them, and they can still announce new stuff. Most of them if not all should be coming over.

Then we have the multiplateform titles, which I consider different from old games ports. So, Conception II is one, but there’s also Blazblue CP (since it’s recent), Deception IV, DW8XL.

And, there are some import friendly titles in Japan for this year. Most of them are rhythm games, but for those who like the genre, it’s relevant. So Project Diva, Love Live, Persona 4 Dancing All night (might be text-heavy but has localization chances anyway), IA/VT…
J-Stars is another seemingly import-friendly game but multiplat’ as well.

Finally, there are the “japanese-only” games that might never make it over here but are still worthy of keeping an eye on, Phantasy Star Nova, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Danganronpa 3/Another Episode, Corpse Party: Blood Drive.

Now if you can on top of that read japanese, if you like anime (cash-in or not) games, don’t mind visual novels, ports or updated ports (like the Atelier), double or triple the list. And voila, you get a hundred of games that aren’t indies.

(Indeed, there is still a lack of western titles though…)

    • Kamakuma

      … Can I hug you? >~~<

    • MaximDualBlade

People love to complain over non important stuff, I do it, you do it, and people who dislike what you like, definetely do it XD I think this will be a better year for the vita and in my opinion 2013 was actually really good, I’m still playing these old 2013 games.

There has been a guy from Sony(Shahid is the name iirc) who is teasing a huge JRPG for vita and he has been teasing for months now. In all hoenty I want a confirmation of Phantasy star Nova, just because I want some PS in my life. I highly doubt it’s an unnanounced project, but for this guy’s credibility, I hope it’s an exclusive and a really good jrpg.

Also keep in mind that anyone who is complaining a lot, has a lot of time on their hands and they are surely bored, because there is no way that someone who says “I bought like these 10 games last month and I’m already bored! Vita has no games!” . I mean I’m still playing muramasa rebirth and with Toukiden coming this week, and my only complain is that I will not be able to play it 5h a day XD

      • Makar85

Eh…complainers will complain… The Ps Vita is a great system, I was very reluctant to buy one at first but i did in December ( good discount on the tearaway bundle) and I’m extremely happy with it, i wish i hadn’t listened to all these negative comments and bought one sooner.
I am a big Nintendo fan and i’ve bought all the main 3DS titles of 2013 ( at least first party) but right now my main console is the ps vita. Like you said i have no idea how people can finish so many games so quickly… either they don’t really or they have some video game-related attention deficit disorder.

        • MaximDualBlade

listen to this wise korok! He loves both systems so much that even thought he invest lots of money on one, he cannot stop touching the other. It’s like a love story. And happy gaming man

          • Makar85

You sound sarcastic but I honestly do love both systems… I appreciate both equally albeit for very different reasons.

          • MaximDualBlade

            I’m not being sarcastic

          • Makar85

Oh ok! As a non native speaker sometimes it’s hard to for me to understand the tone of a comment. I apologise!

          • MaximDualBlade

No problem. But online you cannot understand the tone because there isn’t any so, it’s ok to have doubts here

    • Renaldi Saputra

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is still for 2015

      • Kayseur

I know, but since there’s only one title for 2015 as far as I know, I thought I could as well put it on the list. But it’s true that it’s just an “upcoming title” more than a” 2014 upcoming title”.

        • Renaldi Saputra

          for the localization chances.. umm

so there’s nothing to say “it might never make into the west” anymore

          • Kayseur

It is so long as nothing is confirmed, I think it’s better to play safe instead of getting people’s hopes up. Even if we do get Decode (as it’s a “World” in this trademark), sales will tell whether they’d risk Cyber Sleuth afterward. Of course I sure hope we get it though.

          • Renaldi Saputra

if Decode got localized and do quite well (I’m pretty sure it will do well, with a DMW 1 system, and being in 3DS, when the Fusion/Xros Wars anime is still ongoing on Nicktoons), we can guarantee Cyber Sleuth will come over.. at least for digimon games, they don’t need to do licensing such things

    • icecoffemix

This may shock some people but western publisher support abandonment is not exclusive to Vita portable console-wise. Personally I don’t have any problem with it but there’s really no alternative in this regard beside looking into smartphone’s game.

  • cyberkinghardy

    So where’s To Love-ru, SAO, and Re;Birth 2?

    • Renaldi Saputra

To Love-ru won’t be localized, bcos it’s an anime based. Licensing is hard..
SAO too is anime based, but idk. However being developed by Bandai Namco, you know what will be (excluding the fact it got localized in Chinese)

  • Heath Bunch

Vita makes me wish Sony could be more like Nintendo, and occasionally localize and publish 3rd party Japanese games in the west. The most recent example being Bravely Default.

There are a lot of games I’d like to play, but my Japanese just isn’t good enough to make importing worth it. Stuff like Ciel no Surge, Phantasy Star, Time Travelers, and so on.

  • yellowmage

Oh, so they FINALLY acknowledge the Vita version of the Sly Trilogy! Can’t wait to platinum all three again, unlike Jak and Daxter where I’ve only double-platted the first. I won’t go through those torturous orb hunts again! And now we just need the Ratchet & Clank Trilogy and we’ll be set!

  • Michael Richardson

Good to see Sony is starting to put some weight behind the Vita in the West.

  • Prinny Dood

    I rather have rpgs

  • This is exciting news. Maybe this year my Vita will actually overtake my 3DS in playtime. Persona 4 Golden and Final Fantasy IX can only last me so long…

  • TheBlackRabbit

  • GOLD

when this comes out on vita it will be the third time i buy the game it would be the fourth but ps plus gave it to me for free. i regret nothing

  • Namuro

I’m looking forward to this. Between “100+ titles” from Vita, and “many key titles” from 3DS. I hope we get a lot of good games for both handhelds this year!

  • OlimacFTW

As long as 90% of the planned games won’t be indies….

  • 3PointDecoupage

Let them all be third person RPGs!

  • SerChief

Well I’m glad; seems like 3ds is getting all the love. Have to admit tho; not really excited about the line up so far. No English release for all the games I want :(

  • Tinye

Gosh this is GREAT news for the Vita community. I am sooooo pumped! :D

  • dahuuuundge

But how many of those are Vita exclusive games?

  • Shady Shariest

Sony: “Are you ready for a miracle?”

  • Malon

Does that mean no physical release for Borderlands 2 ?

  • Tenetan

Where is your source about more then 100 games is planned for Vita? All I can find is a said tweet from a few hour ago saying that 100 games is planned to release for PLAYSTATION 4 and not Vita.

Your site is the only one who I can read about ‘Vita’ so please let us know your source.

And don’t take me wrong, I would love for this to be true but right now I have a hard time beliveing it so.

    • Shady Shariest

Was thinking about the same. Can hardly believe that all of th games would be multiplatform :P

    • It’s from a press release from Sony.

  • Rayhan PromisedGallery

Over 100 games = 85% being indie or ports, 12% vita exclusive that doesn’t use Vita’s capabilities (touchscreen/pad, six axis, etc), 3% vita exclusive that uses Vita fully (like Gravity Rush).

Or heck, maybe they count it as 100 because it can remote play PS4, and thus those 100 include PS4 games

  • artemisthemp

I just wanna know the release date of The Walking Dead Season 2 or The Wolf Among US releases for PS Vita.

  • Pandakids09 .

Glad Sony of America is finally paying some attention to the Vita

  • Aushe

and if we don’t count the PS2 and the ones avalable in PS3 the remain is 40% :x

  • Tiredman

I would say my only issue with the Vita in general is pretty much 95% of the games I would want to play on it are on the ps3. I prefer tv to handhelds, so knowing I can play the majority of games I care about on my ps3 makes it hard for me to bite on the Vita. Seeing this list of games and realizing a bunch of them are on the ps3 already just doesn’t wow me. Someday in the future I will snag one just to have it since I am a system collector, well not getting xbox one ever, and play the games I feel like playing someday a good number of years down the road.

  • greavah

    3ds is still better.

  • MewkaKazami

What I really miss on the Vita is the Rune Factories, Bravely Defaults, Eterian Odyseys, Fire Emblems and all of that. It’s such a shame that these life simulators and jrpgs are simply not going to the Vita. Imagine how much better they would look if they were on the Vita… such a shame. I really hate the 3DS with it’s region locking and me living in Europe it’s terrible.

  • Don

that’s fine and dandy but it’d be better if majority of those 100 games weren’t ports.. localize them JPN games!!

  • I don’t need 100 games, just give me a port of Final Fantasy Type-0 + Agito and I’ll be more than pleased! I wouldn’t mind a Vita version of Persona 5, though I think I would be asking too much :P

  • Notquitesure?

    Can’t wait to try Fez

  • Tincho Kudos

If those are the most important ones, I can’t imagine what would be the rest.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some games that are good but neither of those games are killer app and most of then aren’t exclusives for that matter.

  • Makar85

damn i though we were past the days when “indie” games were considered to be of inferior quality… but judging from the comments we definitely aren’t

  • MaskedHero99

    Make a tekken

  • Musashi234

I hope more exclusive games, I don’t mind ports but I didn’t buy my Vita for freaking ports dammit!

  • Can we have a ratchet and clank hd collection as well please?

  • The_Superior_Spider-Mon

how many of them are indie games?

  • I hope they’re good =)

  • batman999

    50 indies 49 ports 1 new ip?
