New Guided Fate Paradox Game In The Works?

By Spencer . February 12, 2014 . 10:03pm

image Nippon Ichi Software may be working on a new game or perhaps a follow up to The Guided Fate Paradox. The developer filed a trademark for The God and Fate Cross Thesis Awakening, which sounds like it’s related to The God and Fate Paradox Revolution, the name of Nippon Ichi’s roguelike in Japan.

The question is will this be a Vita port or is Nippon Ichi turning The Guided Fate into a new series.

Oh nice, I liked Guided fate Paradox a lot even if it was easier then ZHP. I did find the ending a bit underwhelming so maybe this will expand on it.

All the angels wearing maid costumes certainly didn’t hurt either

  • Ladius

Be it a new game or a porting, it’s still great news considering TGFP was one of my favorite games last year and it definitely needs more exposure.

It’s really a shame most people ended up skipping it, it was a great unconventional roguelike and a good heir of ZHP’s greatness. It also had a killer soundtrack and a really nice setting, with some interesting twists.

Of course I would prefer this to be a sequel, even if it’s more realistic to think about a Vita port like Disgaea 3 and 4′s.

    • God

It was amazing but it didn’t sell that well, so i doubt they would make a port of it, or a sequel for that matter… What the hell is NIS thinking?

      • Paulette

Well porting can only mean more sales…

      • Arcana Drill

porting is much less expensive than doing a new game, and NIS ports have a good story of selling well. So its more profits in the end.

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

Wasn’t thrilled by the story, but absolutely loved the gameplay. If only they’d do another ZHP…

    • SlickRoach

Sadly a large majority of the negative reviews came from people expecting another Disgaea or complaining about how you lose all your items when you die like in Z.H.P. It’s more genre confusion than anything honestly..

  • MitsukiIX

i had a feel back when nippon ichi teased those artworks since one of them was noizi itou-sh

Omg yesyesyesyessssss!!! Tgfp is an awesome game whose story, charactes, system and music (DAT MUSIC!) gripped me like a vise! It kinda made me remember that long forgotten feeling of walking into the ring against someone you want to beat, trained to beat, not knowing what to expect, and always finding a different and very tough fight on your hands, overcoming it by a very slim margin.
I sure as hell hope Yousei Teikoku will take care of the soundtrack once more. :D

    • God

Really? What always bothered me of Z.H.P. and The Guided Fate Paradox was how boss fights lasted around 10-50 seconds… not exactly my definition of tough.

      • Demeanor

Well, you know how NIS games are, it all depends on how strong you are, meaning how much you’ve grinded and how much you know about the system. In my case I didn’t look up any guide in my 1st playthru, and I didn’t delve too deep in the MA dungeon, I trained a bit in the machine but without amassing OP resources.
*** MINOR BOSS SPOILERS AHEAD *** Take the castle defense boss where you get swarmed, I was totally out of items by the last wave and won by a hair’s breadth; or the Varael fight, when I suddenyl realized I had next to no mobility/ranged skills, and kept getting falconpunched in poison pools XD or the clone attack when I found myself facing 10-15 lv60 clones at a time XD
So, my personal experience was choke full of exciting boss fights and narrow victories, I found the game to do a very good job in making the boss fights varied and challenging. Plus story and music always gave substance and impact to the battles, it was an awesome journey for me. :)

  • Varnes

Oh please please please be another entry in this series! You already have most of my wallet but take the rest NISA XD

  • Bacon_n_Lettuce

I’d hope it’s a port, as NIS games tend to be most comfortable to play on a handheld (or just a system that has a built in suspend feature).

  • Razzlero

Knowing NIS it’s almost certainly a vita port.

  • Raine

    More Yosei Teikoku please!

If you know what that means, keep it a secret. At all cost, m’kay?

Question (since you might be the only person who knows the answer)

I loved the Yousei Teikoku 6-track vocal album (LACA-15273), it’s amazing, I imported it from Japan. I preordered the game when it was announced in the UK, but it comes with no soundtrack. If I went and imported the US version of the game for the OST would I get any more Yousei Teikoku?

      • pekikuubik

Okay, so here’s the thing: the entire soundtrack is composed by members of Yousei Teikoku, but there’s only one vocal track on the Japanese soundtrack that isn’t on the album you already have. I’m not sure if the US standard edition soundtrack includes that one track (can’t find a tracklist), but I’m leaning on no, since the limited edition doesn’t.

  • Hamaro

I hope its a port, I don’t have a PS3 just yet nor planning on getting one until persona 5 is nearing release. I love me some NIS RPG portable goodness <3

  • Göran Isacson

Yeah, I’d say it’s an updated Vita version, judging solely from experience with what they do with Disgaea games. There’s a precedence for betting on port, is all I’m saying.

  • Remlot

I’m glad knowing this might get a sequel or port but I’m still a little disappointed that it seems ZHP will be lost in it’s shadow. GFP is great and all but the toku themes were what drew me to ZHP in the first place, even more so now that I know a lot more about the genre. Oh well :P

I hope it is a vita port and if it is I hope it will be localized, I always wanted to play this game since it’s so similar with zhp

  • icecoffemix

Vita port please, this game would be perfect on handheld.

  • Kumiko Akimoto

vita port vita port vita port

  • http://resettears.wordpress.com/ Reset Tears

I was intrigued by this game when it was announced, but don’t have a PS3. Will definitely pick this up for Vita if this indeed is going to be ported there. These sorts of games are great for handhelds.

  • Hau To

Come on sequel. The first one was an incredibly great game for me.

  • Earthjolly

Yes. I have yet to beat the game. Chapter 7 is kicking my ass but I love it. Hope its for PS vita also

  • Kelohmello

Cool, I might buy it. I rented the first one hearing not so great things about it but ended up loving it. I could see myself buying a sequel to it.

  • Hitaki

What disappointed me the most about the game was that they didn’t have any dengeki collabs like they did in ZHP. The story was also lackluster compared to ZHP.

Regardless, the game was fairly decent, aside from reading it with NISA’s insufferable translations.

  • Aristides

    Please! Gimmeeee GFP for Vita!!!!
