By Spencer . February 13, 2014 . 10:24pm

Get on a spaceship for a wacky RPG adventure from Compile Heart. Mugen Souls Z has a new protagonist Syrma who can capture enemies like Chou Chou. Hmm… actually something strange happened to Chou Chou in Mugen Souls Z because she can turn into a… giant? Mugen Souls Z is slated for release on PlayStation 3 this May.

This year is turning out to be pretty darn great for games coming to the west.

    • TrueDefault

Playstation 3 is still so alive!

      • Luis Es.

        Alive and KICKING!

      • Hound

Vita and 3DS are making huge strides lately as well.

Going to need a 3rd job just for gaming funds T_T
I guess I could play portables during the couple hours I’ll have for eating and getting ready for work(s) =x

Yep loved the first game cant wait for this

Could anyone who played the Japanese version tell me if and where this game improved upon the faults of its predecessor? I might be interested if it sounds like some of the issues I had with it had with the first game are fixed in this one.

Of course, if the censorship goes crazy I won’t be picking it up at all…

    • Carlos Daniel Flores Loreto

      Censored, confirmed on announcement.

    • flandre

i have the Japanese version of the game and it fixed up the original game’s faults so much. Mugen Souls Z is Sekai Seifuku in game format so you should love this game (at least it’s concept).

this game’s censored but it wouldn’t matter to me because it has no affect on the overall experience.

    • DyLaN

You are only missing the massaging minigame. The hotspring scenes (if it present here) should be left intact like the previous one.

  • Kamakuma

May hm…? *marks calender and sits down next to injured wallet*

Welp ol gal we had a hell of a run… *takes last monies out* t..t

Cool! I still need to pick up the first, but I look forward to playing both.

  • DyLaN

I can’t help but think that Ace and the Hero dude are one of the reject designs of Mao and the ZHP guy XD

So, the planet theme this time is constellations instead of elements?

    • flandre

Yup, that’s right. The Seven Worlds theme of the last game were also the Japanese Seven days of the week
      Sun World (日曜界)= Sunday (日曜日)
Moon World (月曜界) = Monday (月曜日)
Fire World (火曜界) = Tuesday (火曜日)
Water World (水曜界) = Wednesday (水曜日)
Tree World (木曜界) = Thursday (木曜日)
Metal World (金曜界) = Friday (金曜日)
Soil World (土曜界) = Saturday (土曜日)

this time in Mugen Souls Z the Sekai Seifuku now takes place on the 12 months.

ANOTHER game to the list… Nis… Stahp… Nis!

  • admeister

The first game was actually really bad imo. I’ll give this a miss. It’s rare for me to dislike a game released by NISA.

    • flandre

i think there are a lot of people who don’t like the first game but there are still a very small amount of people who love this series and is looking forward to this game such as myself. hence this is a niche title and should be catered to a very small demographic.

there’s no way of defining whether something is “actually” good or not because there is always a game for somebody by NISA.

    • Shady Shariest

Am kinda wishing they learned from the first one, too…
      Waiting for reviews :x

      • flandre

the reviews will most likely depend on the reviewer. there are positive reviews from anime game reviewers for the first game but the big name reviewers are probably going to rate it bad.

        • Shady Shariest

Yupo. The basic rule of reviewing reviews.

  • artemisthemp

Guess this means Idol PP will release in June :(

    1,000,000 Shampuru!

  • Sentsuizan_93

Looking forward to this. Still need to platinum the first game…

  • Eric Harris

I think the only NISA game I’m really looking forward to this year is Fairy Fencer. I guess DanganRonpa 2 also. Oh and Demon Gaze. Guess 3 ain’t bad. I just am not interested in games like this, or Witch and 100 Knights.

  • RichyGaming

I never played this series but I don’t really like what I see (I played Disgaea, Z.H.P). How good is it?

    • flandre

It’s nothing like Disgaea or Z.H.P if you’re hoping for that kind of gameplay.

How good is it? Depends on your niche.

It’s a fact that it’s better than the first Mugen Souls in a whole lot of ways.

  • Learii

3 JRPG from NISA dam *bow* thank you thank you

  • http://danierc-polloconpapas.tumblr.com/ Eduardo Rocha

I dunno if I should get this or not…

  • Hinataharem

I am convinced the days of Japanese only games are quickly dwindling
